Poured from a 750 mL bottle into a Brewer's Art goblet. Moderate hand. Batch 160. Bottled 08/14/13.
A: Cloudy golden yellow body with a towering 3 fingers of rocky, white head. Good retention. Light lacing.
S: Yeast and funk. Lactic acid. Hay. Lemon. Soil and earth. Nice.
T: Tart and musty up front. A balancing hop bitterness develops. Finishes very dry. Lingering sour and earth on the finish. No significant alcohol. A twinge of sweetness somewhere in the middle.
M: Moderate to high carbonation with light, spritzy body. Nice saison character.
O: My first Jolly Pumpkin. Legit, I'd say. Saison by way of gueze. Dig it. I'll seek out more.
