Wow! Just a warning: pour this one slow. With a medium pour I get a four finger head that creeps to the top of my glass like carmel colored pudding. It fades rocky and caverness leaving puzzle pieces of lace as it slowly recedes. Body is oily blackness. Now this is a stout that has a unique nose with toasty malts and ripe but slightly tart dark fruit tones. The first sip brings a taste that is much like the nose, roasty malts wrapped in tart dark fruit esters. Almost like a fruit pie. Alcohol is warming in the belly. A sense of tannins arrive on the back of the tongue. Dry and bitter is the mouthfeel. For its uniqueness it is nicely drinkable.

Sample on tap at Max's (3/11/14)
A: Pitch black with good lacing.
S: Sour, tart and funk with a lot of cherries.
T: Tart. Sour. Nice taste of cherries. This is only vaguely a stout at all.
M: Smooth with only a tingling of carbonation.
O: This is a good beer, but it is quite pricey given what it is.
