On tap at Jolly Pumpkin's new cafe in Ann Arbor.
A: This beer poured a deep mahogany color that was also a little cloudy. It resembled a rusty rail road spike. Not much of a head.
S: Plums, chocolate, sour, funk. Earthy and sweet like top soil. This is one very pleasant smelling brew.
T: The taste resembles the smell quite a bit. Obviously it's funky and sour like almost all JP brews but the funk was more on the lower with this one. Very dark, earthy, and smooth. Towards the end some coffee and chocolate notes come through very nicely.
M: Medium mouthfeel with not a whole lot of carbonation. If it wasn't for the sourness, there would be a lot to be desired by the mouthfeel.
D: Very drinkable beer. A great session brew at under five percent. It tastes good too which makes the drink even better.
Overall, a really good beer from JP. They continue to amaze me.
