Bottle from the Winking Lizard.
Reddish brown and surprisingly clear. Small white head. Looks decent but not like any other saison I've had.
Smells quite nice. Tart cherry, some wheat, and a whole boatload of funk. Horsehair, horseblanket, funky cheese. Good lord that's some brett! Some dark fruit as well.
Taste is nice as well. Much milder than I would have ever thought. Nice brett funk and some sweet malt. Herbals, grass, yeast, and a slight touch of sourness.
Mouthfeel is frankly "the suck". This is like seltzer water. This is the downfall of this beer. Bummer.
Drinkability was good. You must be a fan of JP's brett to love this. It's not my fave, as I prefer the classic horsey-ness of Dupont, but it's quite sessionable and enjoyable. A nice cheese would make this sing more. Decent beer but could use some significant improvement in m/f.
