Great name and label on this one, this was had very fresh, probably within 2 weeks of being shipped out to stores.
Pours a super dark brown color with a nice thick fluffy head that only lasts a minute or so. The head settles down into little puddles of off-color yeast sediment and some light lacing.
Nose on this one is bright but isn't powerful, i'm wanting more of a scent but can't get much off this even after it's warmed up a bit.
The first hit is an intense sour cherry flavor that lingers through the sip, slowly it gives way to a deep pumpkin pie spice flavor. The front end changes quite a bit as it comes up to room temp, i'm tasting roasted barley and a raisin flavor peaking through the sour cherries. I like it, it's deep but refreshing and very drinkable.
Great with a salty/sweet cheese or a sweet dessert, i can see this working with a lot of sweeter dishes balancing out the sweetness with it's sour malt flavor.

Green capped 750 ml bottle from Gator Beverage, Batch 165, 167, 172, 174, dated 10/23/13 poured into Unibroue tulip on 5/12/14. Pours opaque brown that turns a bright ruby color when held up in the light. Big fluffy off white head that lingers for a good while. Aroma is sour cherries, some dark fruit, light spice, oak. I was expecting something different but this smells excellent. The flavor is chocolate covered cherries, light spices, a hint of balsamic vinegar, dry oaky finish. Sweet around the edges of the tongue. Medium bodied with effervescent carbonation. Goes down pretty easy. I really didn’t know what to expect from this brew, but it is really nice and seems pretty unique. I would have this again.

Had on draft at Lures on 5/7/14
A-Dark reddish brown with a small tan head. Spotty lacing
S-Aromas of red wine, wood, light tannins, black cherries/berries, and leather.
T-Taste in the front has tart cherries with a hint of oak. Sweet, in an acidic kind of way. Finish with notes of cherries, green apple, and orange zest.
M-Medium/full body, oily texture, medium carbonation, medium sweet and light/medium sour.
O-Overall it was surprising to taste sour had to get use to it. I wouldn't have for a holiday ale.
