Batch 1046/1047, bottled 3-14-12. Had this once loooong ago on-tap, curious to try it again and see how it has held up up after 20 months. Shared with friends.

Gusher bottle! Darkish orange body with plenty of bubbles and some haze. Ridiculous foamy off-white head morphing into all sorts of shapes and sizes, lace everywhere, etc.

Nice scent of brett/light tart fruits, bread, some grass and earthy tones.

Taste follows suit, still some nice hoppage at this point. Good, somewhat tame tart brett presence, apple, citrus fruits, bread, grass, some earthy and farmy tones.

Very carbonated and foamy, maybe a bit detracting but it works decently with these flavors. Other than that, quite easy drinking.

Like many JP saisons, nothing earth-shattering but certainly a pleasant and interesting beer. Good brett and some x-tra hops.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled 4/16/2012. Pours moderately hazy orange amber color with a big 3 finger dense and rocky off white head with insane retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of green apple, lemon zest, orange zest, pear, grass, hay, pepper, herbal, brett funk, bread, and floral/yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of hop and fruity/spicy yeast/brett notes; with good strength. Taste of green apple, pear, lemon zest, orange zest, bread, pepper, clove, grass, hay, herbal, brett funk, bread, and floral/yeast earthiness. Good amount of tart earthy spiciness/bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of light fruits, citrus, pepper, clove, hay, grass, herbal, brett funk, bread, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of hops with fruity/spicy yeast/brett flavors with a fair amount of malt presence; with a moderately dry finish with no cloying flavors. High carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very crisp and prickly mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.7%. Overall this is a damn nice hoppy saison style. All around good balance and complexity of hops and fruity/spicy yeast and brett flavors; and extremely crisp and smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Deep caramel amber body with a thick, foamy head. Really good head retention on this one. Smell and taste should be taken with a grain of salt, as this bottle is over 2 years old. Hops aren't as up front as the label would have me believe (obviously because of the age). Still a tasty beer with caramel malt flavors, slight toast, and prominent brett both in the nose and taste. Tasty. Mouthfeel is light-bodied with some prickly carbonation. Kind of fluffy as well like a good hefe. This is a nice beer that I'd love to try fresh one day. Unfortunately the place that I buy Jolly Pumpkin in Louisiana is a beer museum (i.e., most of their stock is older than dirt).
