Pours a murky off-orange with brown tinges to it. It's kinda vomit like, but not too much more than Pumpkin ales already are. There's slightly less than one finger of offwhite head here, bot too much lacing.
The aroma is as you'd expect from a Jolly Pumpkin beer: lemon juice, light funk, phenolic bursts. There's pumpkin spice too: clove, nutmeg, cinnamon. I'm picking up on a distinctly gourd-like vegetable note too, so I think actual pumpkin was used in the mash maybe? Either way, a fantastic take on the Pumpkin Ale style.
All of the positives of that aroma bear out on the palate. It's tart and phenolic and dry, mostly. The pumpkin spice is not overdone at all; very subtle spicing compared to most iterations of the style. But you certainly can't miss it either.
Overall this is a very nice beer. I scores so highly because of it being a Pumpkin Ale. As a wild ale, it's only above average. Still, this is the way I wish most all pumpkin ales would be: refreshing and quaffable (because of the acidity and dryness) instead of a spicy slog to get through.
