750ml bottle, $16.99 from the Beer Trappe in Lexington Kty.
Pours hazy copper with a thin head of beige. A coarse ring of foam and some elongated dotted lacework for the duration.
Aromatics lead off with musty, souring fruit, acid-spiked yogurt, and a hint of stomach lining. Slighty tannic with appleskins and red fruit.
Medium bodied with a crisp, sharp mouthfeel.
Tart fruit with a vinegar drizzle and lactic overtones start the palate. Rotten apples with a rather strange fruit flavor and shades of bile follow through.
Finishes with a lingering fruity, lactic sourness.
Kind of a strange beer. As with other JP beers it's heavy on the lactic, bile-like character and less on the clean acid. A very expensive beer also for what it is.
