Shared out of a 22 oz. bottle in a tulip glass on 8-6-12

A: Pours a rich and clear coppery amber with about a half an in of white head that dissipates fairly quick with little lacing. As the rest of the bottle with sediment is poured it turns a cloudy amber rust color.

S: Immediately notice somewhat tart cherries and oak. Notes of coconut, toffee, and hay.

T: Similar to nose. Cherries- not as tart as I had hoped for, but still good- and more oak. Bits of coconut and crackers, a little acidic and some brett funk.

M: Not too much carbonation as it settles down. Medium bodied with a little puckering effect from the cherries, but not much.

O: Not the most complex Jolly Pumpkin beer and wanted a little more tartness from the cherries, but still had a good balance of fruit and dry oak funk. One I'll still definately try again in the future; maybe with a little aging.

S- there is not a very strong smell to this beer but you can definitely pick up on cherries.
T- the taste comes and goes very quickly. The cherries are very defined however there is little by way of the Hawaiian fruit that was used. I do wish that I had a bit more knowledge on the fruit and what it has addded to the beer.
M-there did not seem to be much by way of mouth feel in fact it was quite thin. There is however, somewhat of a sensation on the tip of the tongue.
O- I definitely recommend this beer for anyone who loves sours or even if you are a beginner. It is very good either way.

S - This beer had a very light aroma, hinting at tart cherry.
T - The taste is rather one note, with the cherry leading the flavor. It has a rather quick, dry finish. I wished I was more familiar with the Hawaiian fruit highlighted in the description; cherry was definitely the star.
M - A light tingle sensation near the tip of the tongue that was very pleasant. A somewhat thin mouthfeel.
O - If you love sours, you'll find this to be very wanting, but if you are introducing a comrade to sours this is a great choice. Best sipped and savored.

Apperance- Slightly cloudy with a reddish tint

Smell- This beer primarily has a nice fresh tart cherry sent to it and a slight liliko'i fruity sent.

Taste- This beer had a nice clean pronounced taste of tart cherry with a nice dry finish. Little to no bitterness more to the malty side. Cherry for me was the primary flavor with a slight after taste of the liliko'i fruit.

Mouth feel- light bodied and had a good level of carbonation made for a nice balanced mouth feel.

Overall- This fruit ale is not overly sweet or syrupy, has a nice balance of tart to sweet. Very smooth and easy to drink with a nice crispy dry finish. Not a very complex beer, in regards to not leaving you guessing as to what was put into it, but still very good.

The appearance of this beer was a lovely, slightly cloudy, ruby red color. Very nice to look at. It poured with a 1/2 inch head, with very little retention, and no lacing. The nose was very faintly of fresh sweet cherry, but other than that, lacked complexity. The taste was of cherry and tropical fruit, with a very light sourness, which I thought to be just the right amount. This beer was very refreshing and well balanced, but again, lacked much complexity. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, and pleasant. The finish was surprisingly long lasting, and displayed more sour notes, but was still a bit one-sided. I believe this beer would be well paired with a spinach salad with cranberries, almonds, and Gorgonzola cheese. Overall, I would say this beer is a refreshing, fruity, mild sour, good for quenching your thirst on a warm summer night, but possibly, slightly overpriced.
