Presentation: 12 oz brown longneck bottle with no freshness date, description of the beer and “American I.P.A.” stated on the label.
Appearance: Shimmering off white lace that leaves a web-like trail, the pancake of a head stays for a while floating above the bright golden liquid.
Smell: Slanted hoppy aroma of full on Cascades, sweet and floral with an oily citric note. Some malt is noticeable with suggestions of taffy and ripe pear, all in all this is a bit weak in the aroma for an American IPA.
Taste: Crispness gets a little lost when the moderate carbonation drops out, malt is hard to discern as the one way left-wing Cascade character tries to take over. Rind like citric tones are quick and the bitterness is a bit pungent. Finishes bitter and semi-dry.
Notes: Not bad if you like the taste of citrusy Cascade hops, weak in the malt department which shows in the body as well. Similar to Harpoon IPA but not as good.

A strong coppery gold in the glass, good head retention with streams of carbonation up the glass, very clear. 3.75
S – crisp grapefruit upfront, floral notes in abundance, caramel biscuit malt, light and fruity, very summer-y. 3.25
T – a nice punch of cascade hops, lots of ruby grapefruit and pithy bitterness, dry florals and a dry body that lingers with robust citrus notes drying out on the finish. Some grassiness, the hops are good and the bitterness balanced by the maltiness, but I feel they fall a bit flat, fairly one dimensional in terms of the cascade/grapefruit profile. 3.5
M – moderate body, high carbonation, quite a sessionable fruity IPA. Good bitter pithy feel to it, with enough of a biscuit malt base to work. 3.5
A tasty, easy to enjoy American IPA, not too many bells and whistles, clean and dry which I like, but the hop profile doesn’t overly impress. Would be good for summer, malts are there but surpressed a bit and hops dont really shine. Clean but not very exciting.
