Pours a dark brown color with a one-finger light tan head. The head recedes into a patchy layer on top leaving light lacing.
Smells of lightly roasted malts with an underlying sweetness that I also noted in the Brown - though in this case it's probably closer to raisins than green apples.
Tastes similar to how it smells. Lightly roasted malt flavors up front followed by a mild fruit sweetness that lets off right before the lightly bitter ending.
Mouthfeel is good. It's got a decent thickness with nice carbonation.
Drinkability is alright. I drank this because it was there, not necessarily because I was excited about it.
Overall this is a stout that I wouldn't say to avoid, but I can't say that I recommend it.

A mild relatively thin, light black and dark brown stout. Aroma hit the coffee and alcohol notes first, roast much lighter behind that.
Taste, like a very mild irish stout, or porter, this just didn't have the lactose or the heft I would want from a milk stout. Saranac just always falls short for me, even if this was one of their better attempts. The lack of body and sweetness just don't cut it.

A- pours a very dark almost opaque brown. very light 1 finger tan head but dissipates quickly, leaves little lacing.
S- roasted and caramel malts
T- slight coffee, roasted malty flavor but nothing strong.
M- nice carbonation, smooth, easy to drink, coats mouth nice
O- not the best stout, not the worst. Pairs decent with a chocolate cake.

A - Pours with a dark brown body that showcases some ruby highlights...the one finger head is light brown in color and thick in appearance...recedes to a small, rocky cap and leaves decent lacing
S - Roasted malts stand out creating sweet caramel and chocolate flavors...there is a hint of vanilla adding to the sweetness of the nose
T - The sweet aspect carries over to the flavor...the vanilla jumps out more than it did in the nose...it's mainly upfront...the malts take over from the middle to the finish...they are roasted nicely at first...sweet caramel, milk chocolate, and light roasted coffee come out in the middle...towards the finish the malts give off a smokey charcoal flavor
M - Medium bodied...starts to get thin, roasty and slightly smokey
O - Not a bad stout, but definitely on the sweeter side...started off nicely, but changed big time as it warmed...probably still the second favorite of the mixed pack
