Disruption is a nitro infused Brown Ale, brewed with a distinctive mix of caramel and chocolate malts. Northern Brewer and Eastern Kent Goldings hops balance the deep maltiness, imparting their own rich earthy-fruitiness.
Disruption was once a wild, ravenous black bear but you mustn’t fret. Our brewers have tamed this mighty beast: the nitro not only gives this bear a smooth mouthfeel with a creamy finish, but it also accentuates the sweet malty character of the grains for greater depth in cocoa, caramel and coffee flavor. Pour disruption down the center of the glass and marvel at its cascading beauty. Get ready to experience the dark side of this disruptive brown ale.

I have had dozens of different Saranac beers in the years I have been drinking, but this is my first one in a can. Dark, nearly black with a creamy tan head. Nose is caramel and sugar.
Texture is thick and very creamy. Also seems to have a lot of yeast floating around with the dry malts; chocolate and caramel and toasted wood. Alcohol is evident considering the relatively moderate abv.
The nitro creaminess is an interesting touch, and this is one of the better Saranac beers I've ever tried. Worth keeping n eye on.

Saranac made a good beer?
SARANAC MADE A GOOD BEER! ALERT EVERYONE. THE CURSE HAS BEEN LIFTED.
Creamy, chocolatey, cakey, lots of vanilla. Frothy and fullfilling.
Will we be graced by such a strange passing again?

[D]isruption, mister!" How dare Saranac put a Brown Ale in a Nitro CAN and expect that it will escape the notice of The CANQuest (tm)? Purchased at The Foodery (Northern Liberties) in Philadelphia, this will make a nice segue into some other N2 CANs that have recently entered the market.
The Crack! on these CANs is always amazing! There was a loud Psssh! sound as it charged up, although it also revealed a good bit of head space. Underfilled or intentional? No matter. I began an inverted Glug as directed in the Notes, only to have the bear come roaring out & up at me like I had abused one of its cubs! Backing off & away, I took note of the two fingers of dense, foamy, deep-tan/light-brown head that sat there, glowering at me like I had done something wrong. I was only following directions, I swear! Color was Dark Brown to Very Dark Brown (SRM = > 27, < 34) with NE-quality clarity & mahogany highlights. Nose tended towards more roasty, very dark chocolate & coffee, less caramel. Mouthfeel was soft, but big, like a scoop of ice cream on the tongue. The taste had a mild smokiness to go along with a rich dark chocolate flavor. This was more in line with what I like in the style. Finish was dry, smoky, dark chocolaty, more like an after dinner/dessert beer. Interesting.

Poured from the can into a nonic pint glass.
Nitro can punch and slam, and a great rush and thud it goes, into the glass with a cascading light mocha, but the head manages a finger and a half of supper creamy whipped and very light tan make up. Body color is walnut brown red, minor floaties on the bottom of the glass, but solid opaque. The head just sits and sits.
Aroma is straight up big chocolate. Mild hints of nut and cream but comes in with excellent milky angles, and thickness of flavor. Fairly one dimensional forgiving toasty notes, in a rush of chocolate thickness. It's a good one at least and impressive.
Mouthfeel takes the lead, but the palate doesn't really give much away. Creamy feeling whipped up icing flavors but with little malt presence. Comes off like a dumbed down milkshake with muted chocolate notes and lots of air whip cream empty feeling. A pleasant flavor at least, with much milky classic nitro thick character.
Unfortunately much of the brown ale qualities are completely over shadowed by a sweet thick creamy flavor, and muted chocolate. Comes out more like a dumbed down milkshake than a decent brown unfortunately. Ironically it would make an excellent dessert food pairing, and has a very highly noticeable ABV.

A - Dark body, opaque, with tight nitro bubbles that rise into a light off-white head. Lots of lacing down the edge. Very pretty, lovely.
S - Very quiet. Slight roast notes. Big caramel elements.
T - The flavor is primarily dough and dark bread, a hint of coffee, and a very slight hop bitterness in the close.
M - Very smooth, clean and full. Quite drinkable.
O - Nitro suppresses the nose and flavor, but it is still pretty tasty. A good drinker.
