Poured a lighter color than I've seen with other Oktoberfests. Left a moderatley sized head

The smell was of fruit and something else I couldn't put my finger on.

The taste was just OK. It had some hops, some spices, I could taste some fruit tones, and alchohol. It just didn't blend well for me.

Decent carbonation level. About what you would expect.

The beer just wasn't a very drinkable beer for me.

Looks clear dark copper/light amber with a big creamy off white head. The retention is very solid, and sheets of lacing are left behind.
Smells of toasted malts, rich brown bread, some caramel and toffee, and faint herbal hops.
Huge toasted brown bread, some caramel and toffee, with a faint hint of herbal hops on the finish. Excellent brown sugar sweetness, but crisp with some balance.
Great Märzen!

Put this up in a blind tasting between Ayinger and sierra and it landed as the clear winner. Fantastic marzen.

L: Look is a standard marzen, very clear, nice head retention
S: Faint, but once again standard. Toffee, caramel, toast, some floral hops
T: Good but flavors appear somewhat muted. Nothing particularly bad about it at all, but leaves me wanting more, touch more sweetness, a bit more malt. Definitely has a nice hop finish but it isn't balanced out well by malts
F: Medium high carb, light, super refreshing, easy drinking.
O: So-so marzen, not something to actively seek out but definitely not something to be avoided either.
