Release on August 1st 2015. Our single malt is a high gravity scotch ale aged to sweet perfection in bourbon barrels. This is a rich, malty and sweet beer with an underlying scotch-like aroma to balance the malty notes. You’ll find a noticeable bourbon note in the aroma and finish.

pours deep opaque caramel. Aroma is bourbon, malt, slightly vinous. Taste is incredibly complex, buttery bourbon warmth. Once up to temp the scotch ale shines with bourbon backbone. Body is slightly thinner than expected, almost oily. Delicious, very much wishing that they sold this in California

12oz bottle. Pours a murky dark brown with very little head. Fair amount of lacing. Slightly boozey aroma with some toffee, caramel, and green apple. The taste is earthy followed up by the green apple and toffee. Caramel malts with some light woody notes. More of the alcohol comes out towards the end but it drinks fairly easy for being 10%. Sweet at times but still has that peaty Scotch Ale flavor. The barrel notes are subtle and not overpowering. Medium bodied with little carbonation. Overall, a solid BA Scotch Ale I'd buy again.

12oz brown bottle, sample from the brewery.
Beautiful showing of lace, nearly black with only a slight glimpse of crimson within its darkness. Massive sticky toffee, bourbon-barrel, malty nose. Wood age on the palate, some barrel booze and some beer warmth go back and froth from sweet to drying wood. Toffee, caramelized plums, faint vanilla, cake. Wood character really helps to keep the balance here. A clear sipper and a whole lot of fun.
