Poured a nice rich deep amber color with a modest head. It had a decent smell, the hops and malts were both prevalent.
At first is was really nice tasting beer. Hints of caramel and brown sugar, just a hint of hops on the backside of the flavor. But the flavor did wear on me the more I had, which affected it's overall drinkability as well.
Of the beers that came in the "12 Beers of Winter" sample pack, this one is by far my favorite.

Poured into a mason jar mug: color is dark gold, head is very light tan, head presents 1/4 thick, but dissipates to thin top, no lacing.
Smell is grainy sweet malt, caramel, limited toffee, earthy hops.
Taste is more grainy sweet malt, light caramel, hint of toffee, herbal hops.
Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, low/moderate bitterness.
Overall a lightly sweet american style lager.

Small little brown and light red pour, 1/5" head, beige. Nutty aroma.
If you wanted an American boring brown ale, here it is, a little less sweet than Newcastle. Same vein. Search for toffee, nuts and caramel all you want. Some people will definitely like this beer. That person who wants to go beyond AAL, but doesn't want a lot of malt, hops, bitterness etc. . .
I'm not that guy.
