I'm doing a pumpkin vertical here: Williamsburg, Schlafly, and this one!
A: Pretty clear orange color, with moderate carbonation, and an inch head (much bigger than the other two).
S: I smell pumpkin yeast. That is not a bad thing, but I don't get the pumpkin pie quality that I commonly associate with the big pumpkin beers. Pepper?
T: It's almost like a pumpkin lager. However, that is not a bad thing at all. It's smooth as hell (smoother than the other two), but the peppery yeast dominates the pumpkin flavor somewhat. I'll ding it a bit for that, but it's still kind of refreshing.
M: Fairly thin texture-wise (at least compared to the other two), but it rests on the palate nicely
D: ABV is only 5.4%. It may be one of the thinner of the great pumpkin ales, but it's definitely more sessionable.
