bottle poured into a tasting glass. pours a brownish amber coolor with a single finger of light tan head that has decent retention and leaves no lacings.
aroma is heavy on the spice with nutmeg, allspice and a touch of cinnamon. a light caramel note is present as well. too much spice in the nose.
taste is more of the same, unfortunately. like a piece of pumpkin pie; heavy on the spice to the point of detriment to its drinkability. needs to mellow out a bit.
mouthfeel is medium bodied and spicy with a maly texture and a spicy finish of residual malt and nutmeg.
drinkability is decent. the brew is just too heavy on the pumpkin spices. it tastes like pumpkin pie, but in all the wrong ways. the malt does not back up the spice enough to be very palatable.
