Pours an almost black body with dark brown edges, topped by a sticky tan head with good retention. Aromas are very literal on the vanilla, smelling like a bottle of extract waved right under the nose, with just a hint of something roasty. Taste is considerably roastier and closer to approximating the typical stout profile, with a considerably strong vanilla character throughout and lot of toffee notes on the finish. The body is disappointingly thin, but this is a not a bad beer overall.
