Utica Club is an incredibly clear golden lager with a big, fluffy, white head that has great retention and lacing. It has a fruity, bready aroma. It smells very clean. It is medium-light bodied, smooth and lively. The finish is crisp and dry. It has a mellow flavor-- lemony, fruity in general, with a nice leafy bitterness. It's slightly sweet at the finish. This surprized me! It's a cheap pilsner that really nails the style. When my brothers and I drink this, our dad sings the Utica Club jingle from decades ago... something about natural bubbles.

Utica Club has a medium-to-thick white head, a mostly clear, golden appearance, with minimal lacing but very noticeable fine particulate matter suspended throughout. The aroma is of sweet grain and a slight sourdough note. Taste is of those elements, with just the faintest hop bitternes, some paper, and also an unfortunate chalky aspect. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Utica Club finishes refreshing and pretty crisp.

Appearance: pours a 1/2" frothy white head that recedes moderately and leaves some lacing. Color is pale straw and clear. Large amount of streaming carbonation.
Aroma: standard American lager aroma -- some grain husks, hints of sweet barley and a mild hop presence.
Mouthfeel: light and watery, crisp and refreshing with a dry finish.
Flavor: some corn and barley flavors combine wild a very mild hop bite in the finish.
Overall: Very pleasant for an adjunct style lager.

I believe this a very underappreciated beer. I was pleasantly surprised by it. My parents fondly recall a relative swearing by this stuff long before I was born. So when I got the chance to try it, I figured it was probably just a nostalgia thing that made family members talk so highly of it. But after trying it, I was impressed. It was quite smooth. Was not very bitter. Had a nice golden color to it. I could definitely see it being a very good beer to enjoy on a hot summer day.
