Pours a light golden with amber glow to it with fine high carbonated white head even bands of lacing between sips. Aroma seems pretty light and delicate a hint of grainy breadiness with light citrus hops barely slipping onto my radar. Pretty light flavors going on nothing much in the way of anything light biscuit malts cereal grains with a touch of hops pretty forgettable out of a summer sampler it fulfills it's purpose refreshing effortless drinkability even carbonation light bodied summer drinking beer.

This so-called session ale pours like champagne: clear, bright gold in color, light-bodied and effervescent with bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass for the duration of the drinking session. The pure white head is fluffy, dense and craggy, about 2 fingers tall to begin with and showing good retention as it falls to just under a finger and stays there while leaving patches and spotting behind.
Citrus and earth are the primary notes in the aroma, and it does seem familiar after the Wild Hop pils. There's some grass and herb and a bit more pith as more of the citrus peel note makes itself strongly known.
It's hoppy for a blonde but still soft, with lots of citrus, grass, herb and biscuit alongside some cracker and a little sweetness. As it warms, there's some honey too.
The feel is firmly crisp in a light body but still, as with the flavor, plenty soft with some smoothness as well.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a pint glass.

Pours clear gold, 1/8 inch of white foam. Some retention. German pils nose, like a beer. Taste is quite lite, a little flat. More empty than not. Hop tries to creep in at the end and give some body. Hole in the middle. Certainly sessionable, so it accomplishes what is intended - but without much fanfare.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle that comes from the 2013 Summer pack. Sampled on May 4, 2013.

The pour is a pretty standard pale yellow with a white fizzy head. Nothing makes this unique.

The aroma is more of bread of biscuit than anything else with a mute but clean hop note.

The body is light to medium and about right for the style.

The taste is pretty straight forward with bread, biscuit and pale malts and a basic clean hop finish. Better than an adjunct pale ale but really nothing extraordinary.

This was from the the 2013 release of 12 beers of summer mixed pack. I got from Evergreen Liquors ($13.99)

Look: Light golden color with a small white rocky head. Some spotty lacing and mediocre carbonation bubbles.

Smell: Fruity twang with that signature malt character that is expected from Saranac brand.

Taste: First up was a very light fruity citrus. The middle was a faint malt sweetness. The finish was fairly clean with some bitterness that kicked in at the end along with a carbonation tingle. Not much for aftertaste.

This was a super light beer with qualities found in a typical Summer Ale. Definitely sessionable as the name suggests. I just cant see why I would pick this one over all the others out there though.

Poured a dark straw hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was decent retention and lacing.

The smell featured pale malts and a light herbal hop.

The flavor offered clean grainy malts and a light cleansing hop.

The mouthfeel was toward the lighter side of the style.

Overall a quaffable light ale.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a 14 oz "pint" glass. Pours straw with a small head that dissipates quickly. Smells of sweet grain, not much else. Tastes of grain with a very slight pine hop. Beer is very heavily carbonated but light body still goes down really easy. Overall, an average beer.

Poured from a bottle into a shaker pint, the beer is a bright, crystal clear, straw yellow coloring with a thin, sparse, white filmy surface coating. Aromas of toast, slight butter, and a bitter hops presence at the end. Flavors are toasty, also, with a more prominent hops presence. Peppery and resiny hops cut through the roasty/toasty backbone, but the grain-like profiles keep the beer balanced and light. Crisp and light in mouth, the beer has a toasted and slightly hoppy aftertaste. Bitterness and light body give a slightly dry, clean finish. Easy enough to drink, but flavors are a little off-balanced.

12oz bottle in a pint glass.

A- Golden color, a shade or two on the dark side of the blonde color chart. A big white head tapers quickly, next to no lacing. Quite clear with abundant bubbles.

S- Wet bready malts with a faint floral hop.

T- Malty sweet with just enough hop bite to offer some balance. Not very complex but it tastes ok.

M- Light, carbonated, drinkable.

O- Not a bad effort but lacking punch. It's sessionable as claimed and I can see this being a step-up enjoyable brew for an AAL drinker.

I didn't expect much from this beer, as a middle-of-the-road summer pack selection. I got about what I expected. It is a straw colored, faintly hazy brew....thn white head. The aroma is grain and fruit based. A bit more fruity esters than expected...soft and sweet with a touch of malt. God, but not remarkable. The teste is slightly sweet. Malt and fruit as well, but not overwhelming. A touch of hops, mostly bitter, in the mid taste. Medium to light in body. Not bad, straight down the middle.
