Pours a clear, yellow color, actually kind of reminds me of Pliny in looks. The smell is barely perceptible hops, yeast and a little breadiness. Taste is similar. You can actually tell that hops are present, but they're not very strong (though it is a tad bitter for my tastes). Mouthfeel is fine. Overall, a pretty mediocre IPA. Not bad, but not worth buying again.

In contrast to others, I think this gets better as it warms and as it goes. By the end of my first glass, I wanted another.

A: 4.25 - because it has a very tight, cotton candy, lacey head over a very light colored, hazed straw golden body.
S: 3.5 - Too faint. Light aromas of biscuit malts underneath grapefruit/pineapple hops.
T: 3.5 - Starts with light, bright biscuit malts with a bit of caramel sweetness. Followed by predominantly tropical, pineapple hops, a bit of sun warmed hay, and a long, slightly watery, but otherwise pleasing finish.
MF: 3.7 Enough weight and pleasing feel to invite another.

Good to see Saranac make a true quality craft IPA.Pours a burnt orange color with atight formed half finger white head that settles pretty slowly leaving a nice ring behind.Citrusy aromas with mild biscuit like sweetness detected as well, grapefruit stands out most.A good splach of citric fruitiness at the onset of the palate, grapefruit and a tropical quality with only light biterness in the finish, sweetish biscuit malts hold up well to the hops with just a hint of alcohol sweetness as well.A solid American IPA here with alot of hops, stick to stuff like this Saranac.

16 ounce can

No freshness info

A- hazed lighter amber, moderate off white head, quickly fades, leaves a nice looking film and respectable webs of higher lace.

S-Pleasantly fruity hopped up nose

T- Pleasant IPA on the fruity side, with moderate to lower bitterness. I get some light tropical fruit, and again moderate hopping. Easy drinking and quite enjoyable.

M- Medium bodied, carbonation seems to on point for the style

O- Doesn't quite rise to the level of the heavy hitters of the style, but this is a worthy effort from Saranac.

Worth a try

Slightly cloudy light amber pour with a white head that dissapates quickly. Malty sweet with a medium hop finish that does not assault the palate. A very enjoyable beer. Considering I prefer malty low IBV dark beers, this IPA was very enjoyable.

I like the use of pale malts in this IPA, most Saranac hopped up beers have a ton of caramel colored malts. Big slightly off white biscuit textured thicket of foam, fine even speckled lacing as it slowly dwindles appears on the sides of my glass.

Aroma has big hops upfront in addition to herbal/pine notes I’m getting some garlic/onion (a sure sign of Summit hops). Mild citrus barely a trace of tropical notes this is a much danker approach so far, biscuit malts provide a bit of bready perceived sweetness.

Flavor dry herbal pine and citrus notes no real malt base to complement, tastes just like pelletized hop water…a lingering garlic/onion note really summarizes the finish for me. This is rough, unbalanced a mess of an IPA really.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied slightly thick with hop oils, goes down a bit harsh one sided hop profile lets the palate adjust about half way through the 12 ounce portion. Carbonation carries everything quite nicely.

Overall, if you are in a bind for some hops this would do especially in can format on a hot day or in the new fall sampler super fresh with some other decent beers…this IPA, Dark-toberfest, their awesome schwarzbier, pumpkin ale, Oktoberfest, and a nice Autumn pils.

16oz can poured into a snifter.

A: Pours a slightly hazy light goldish amber with an average white head. Not much visible carbonation. Lacing on the glass shows how many sips I've taken.

S: Nice dry hopped sort of aroma going on here. A bit fruity from the hops it is quite pleasant. Mildly sweet malts linger in the background. Earthiness becomes more present as it warms.

T: Very nicely blended flavor here, hops dominate as they should with an IPA but are not overly bitter or sticky. Instead its a fresh hop flavor with a citrus character. Malts are light and add a complimenting sweetness.

M: Light to medium body with a great feel on the tongue. Would be an easy one to knock back a few in a row with.

Overall this is an impressive beer, always try the new things Saranac has out and this one is leagues above their other beers. Hope this is a sign of things to come.

Golden amber, clear, with a nice white, tightly foamy, modest head. Lace seems to want to stick but instead shifts around. Aroma is lightly sweet floral and citrus with a little bit of spice and fresh white grains. Soft soapy aromas, flowery and clean. Taste is citrus, peppery crackers, and rosey. Light bitterness stirs it up. Nice prickly carbonation elongated through the finish keeping things bright. This is a very easy to drink IPA with a happy set of aromas and flavors. Has its own character.

This was the 13th beer, a full 16oz. pint in a mixed 12 pack, the "brewers dozen". Which usually has a very nice mix of styles. But, a free pint in a can!?! Great deal.

Poured this 125th ANN ale into a proper English pint glass. Golden colored goats, 3" rocky mountain high foamy cap...solid.

The aroma is unique, peppermint, fresh basil, mild citrus, herbal blends, musky, pine...I'm thinking cascade meets Saaz. Maybe i'm dreaming, or hallucinating.

Seriously, The flavor is as close to a fresh wet-hop ale you can get without actually being one. wonderful Hop complexity, dry, earthy, slightly bitter, zingy pineapple, tart kick...oh yeah, the malt is in perfect balance providing a light, sweet and crispy effect.

A Lively, but nearly full MF, Tangy, dry kick to start with a clean, crispy finish which is great for such a nice complex hop. All in all, easily one of the very best Saranac deliveries ever.

And thanx for the extra pint of pure gold.
