Tremendous selection of beers, much like the other Total Wine locations I have visited. Store is well organized with aisles of singles for those looking to bottle shop. Parking is more than adequate but the slope of the lot makes it a challenge to load your car. The only negative is that many of the singles are priced more than the traditional 20% upcharge per bottle. I would come back and shop again if I was in the Baltimore area.

The big draw to Total Wine is their selection and their prices. They have tons of domestic craft and tons of import craft and plenty of singles for a mixed six pack. Limited releases can be hit or miss, as sometimes they have them and keep them up front and sometimes they just put them on the shelf. If I am looking for something common and am in the area I stop here because the prices cannot be beat. They are kind of the Wal-Mart of adult beverage stores.
The one other thing I like is that you can order online and then go pick up your order. This is a way to see their prices and potentially order sale items.

This is the less classy version of the Laurel store.
The parking lot is quite cramped and getting in/out of the place is a little confusing. The inside of the store looks is very yellow and dingy. It feels like a bodega grocery store.
Quality is decent. They have a large selection compared to a lot of other places in MD.
Service is ok, but their specialties are definitely in spirits, wines, and cigars, not beer. However, they can usually point you to something if you have a name already, but not too much for finding new stuff.
They have a decent selection, especially with singles, which is great since they are one of the few places that does mix-sixs in MD.

Beltway has a large selection of wines and liquor... The beer selection is decent. I have found the staff is not very knowledgeable about their beer, but they will be able to tell you the finer details about the hundreds of wines they have in stock. You will find the beer section if you walk from the entrance straight through the store, past the cash registers. It's the last two rows; 6-packs and singles in the first row, cases in the last row, cold beer to the left. Selection caters more towards the domestics crowd, but they do stock a decent selection of imports and craft brews. Just don't go in looking for a specific brew; they may stock it sometimes but if it's gone nobody will know if and when they will have it again. I'll stop in here if I don't have anything particular in mind and want to choose from a broad selection; and they are convenient to I-695; but there are better beer stores in the area.

Beltway used to be Disney World to me. While they have a great selection of liquor and wine, I was kinda disappointed in the beer selection. While it is pretty good, compared with a lot of other places, for all the space they have, they don't have much. Shawan and Honeygo have a better selection to me. You would expect for the amount of sales area, and the boom in craft brew, that they'd try to stock everything. But it can be hit and miss.
The employees don't really talk to you much. If at all. Price was decent for the area.

Visited after DuClaw one night....mixed experience.
The place is essentially on the lower level of a split level building, and the ceiling seems a little lower than I'd expect. This is essentially a Total Wine with a different name slapped on it. One aisle of craft, but it's a long aisle. Selection wasn't excellent, but they had some interesting DuClaw bottles that Honeygo didn't have. Also picked up a bottle of Dogfish Urkontinent, and the price seemed about right. Service was a spotty, as the guy in the aisle pretty much didn't make eye contact with any of us, and solely focused on one customer. The cashier was a little rude and disappeared for a few minutes to get a SKU on a product...OK then. I'd come back, but Honeygo crushes them across the board.

This used to be my go to place when i first was really getting into craft beer because it was the only place i knew that had "create your own six pack." I kind of got away from it because after a while i felt like the singles section did not change very much, and i had tried a lot of the beers. Recently, i have been finding myself coming back here alot, and the main reason is without a doubt prices.
To me, i feel like the place has gotten a little better over the years. The singles section is bigger, and i feel like they have more seasonals and bombers. It is still not the place i'm going to go to get rare or harder to find beers, but what they do have is always the lowest priced in the area. Recent example, DFH 120 for 8.99 a bottle and Bitches Brew for 11.99. Best i have seen anywhere around here. They have a lot of cases, and a walk in cooler with cold beer and kegs. The service has gotten friendlier, if still not always the most knowledgeable. The one big gripe i have is that the parking lot is small for the size of the store, and gets very crowded especially around holiday weekends. But for everyday buys on six packs and such, i will continue to come here to save a couple bucks.

This is an edited review. I've been shopping here on and off for at least 5 years and the place has ebbed and flowed a bit. My last review was damning with respect to their selection, which took a hit. I've since changed that, other things remain the same...
Atmosphere is not bad. They are located directly off of 695 on Loch Raven, which makes them a useful, easy destination for county folk and those popping off of 95 passing through. There large parking lot fits a couple dozen cars. I just wish they had a turn off to make the turn in easier. If coming off 695, you have to pull a frantic U-turn to make it back around. Quality is usually very good. They do good business and the peeps are constantly restocking.
Service is friendly, but there are only a light handful of staff that take care of brews. Most folks are regional wine experts and can't even tell you if they have brand x or y.
Selection has greatly improved over the years. They have the standard brands from a good deal of regional, national, and some Belgian and British mixes. They won't have anything one would consider rare. Prices are pretty good and at least a dollar or so cheaper than the other quality spots around town.
Overall: This is technically my go to spot nowadays. They send out coupons once a month or so that save you a dollar on pricy sixers, which I use to fill up the beer fridge. Things don't sit around, so it seems much fresher and extensive than Wells. I'm lazy, this is 5 minutes away, and I have to dodge hipsters to purchase beers at Wine Source.

Beltway is easy to get to, huge, and they carry a lot of craft beer. They don't really have hard to find beers, but they're prices are the best around. I did manage to find some Rogue that I hadn't seen elsewhere like 21 Ale and a Yellow Snow mini keg that's pretty awesome.
They do let you create your own six-packs, and they have really great case prices, though their stock fluctuates drastically, particularly with popular cases like DFH 60-min and 90-min.
As a side note, they sell Mayorga coffee, interestingly enough. It's made in Rockville, and I haven't seen it anywhere since Costco stopped carrying it ages ago. Very good coffee with many styles.

My experience with Beltway has been good. They had a vast selection of beer, many of which I haven't been able to find elsewhere. They also offer 24 packs of my favorite beers as opposed to other locations where its just in 12s. The place is like a grocery store of alcohol that focuses mainly on wine, but we're beer drinkers here and I believe you'll be just as happy. I didn't experience any service except when checking out either. I would recommend this place to anyone in search of alcohol.
