650ml brown glass bottle with uninterestined label art and branded pry-off pressure cap acquired at a local bottle shop.

Served cold into a pilsner glass in me gaff in low altitude Austin, Texas. Reviewed live as an imperial pilsner per the label. Side-poured withs tandard vigor as no carbonation issues are anticipated.

No bubble show forms as it's poured.

HEAD: Two fingers wide. White in colour. Great frothiness. Nice creaminess and thickness. No lacing sticks to the sides of the glass as the head recedes. Retention is excellent - easily 10+ minutes.

BODY: Clear translucent copper with gold hues. Above average vibrance. Clean; no yeast particulate or hop sediment is visible.

Appears well-carbonated. It's a nice looking pilsner, but has no stand-out characteristics.

AROMA: Honey, golden malts, graham cracker, a hint of bubblegum hop character, grassy hop character, and German malt aromatics.

No yeast character, alcohol, or off-notes are detectable. The dominant graham cracker is a highlight, and gets me excited to try the beer.

Overall, it's a pleasant aroma of above average strength.

TASTE/TEXTURE: Graham cracker melts into the pilsner, Munich, and distinctly German malts. It's not as grassy as you'd expect a pilsner to be; the hop flavours are more of the bubblegum and floral variety. Honey malt adds needed depth and complexity, but also bolsters the body, making this a surprisingly full-bodied pilsner.

Has some caramel notes without ever feeling too sweet. There's a bit of piney hop character in the third act.

It's well balanced for what it is, but it leaves a lot to be desired in terms of complexity/intricacy, subtlety, and nuance. It's a pretty standard build for an imperial pilsner, aside from the graham cracker - which is fantastic.

Thick for a pilsner, without feeling overbearing. It's smooth, wet, slightly creamy, and overcarobnated. Mildly refreshing.

OVERALL: It's a nice little imperial pilsner with some interesting graham cracker flavours, but I can't see myself buying this again - at least not so long as it's only offered in the 650ml format. It's a product much better suited to 6-packs. I'll enjoy finishing the bottle, but I can't say it's a world class brew and I'll likely have forgotten it within the week. Pretty pedestrian stuff, but also very drinkable. Worth trying if you dig the style.
