22oz bomber into a perfect pint glass.
A. Pale golden amber colour with a good strong off-white head that has plenty of retention.
S. Lots of grainy malts, some sweet caramel malts, earthy hops, very full.
T. Quite sweet up front and in the middle, with a dry, bitter finish. I'm getting a little citrus in the background, maybe some mango? It's well focused and balanced.
M. Pretty thick, for a pilsner, but then it is an imperial pilsner so I suppose it should be. No marks taken off for that.
O. Not bad at all. I've only had one imperial pilsner before (and I can't even remember which one), so I've got little to go on as far as the style is concerned, but I like this. It's got some character to it, and for a lager it bears more than a striking resemblance to an ale.
Serving type: bottle
