small chalice in a dark corner of the brewpub dungeon

a: served in a small, round chalice, the beer is a clear golden in color, topped with a thin coating of carbonation

s: sweet grainy nose with a nice rye edge immediately noticeable - spicy under all the pale malt sugars, nicely estery with stonefruit and banana, belgian sugars, good yeast spice and some lightly grassy-spicy hops, a little on the sweet side for my taste but a nice nose to start with

m: carbonation around low-moderate, seems slightly low and calm on the tongue for the style, full bodied with slick sugars

t: sweet pale malts lightly accented with rye to provide a sweet-spicy flavor, sweet and fruity, good clove and other yeasty spice, subtly hopped

o: a nice tripel, but it's a little sugary at times for my preference, it's certainly packing some strength, but it drinks well all the same

Enjoyed this at Brewer’s art in Baltimore, Maryland.

A: Pours a clear golden with a thin white 1/2-finger head that last quickly dissipates and barely leaves a lace.

S: Sweet Belgian candi aroma with slight hints of fruits in the background.

T: Similar to the aroma the flavor consist of a sweet Belgian candi flavor aroma, with hints of fruits in the background.

M: Very strong and boozy. Medium body and low carbonation.

O: Interesting beer brewed with three types of grains (barley, wheat, and rye) and saaz hops. Very strong yet easily drinkable.
