A victorian style manor house with huge wooden doors that have some weight as you pass through them. The colors are muted and a relaxed bar area is the first spot you see. Couches and bistro style seating are a nice touch with surreal, dreamy art adorning the walls. Plenty of glassware and unique tap handles grab your attention at the bar.
The quality of beer and food is top notch - everything is freshly prepared and served hot. The beers are served in the appropriate glassware and a nice balance between pub food and fine dining is available. You can choose from well known beers from across the globe as well as ale made on premise.
The service was good considering the time I chose to visit - Happy hour. The place started to get busy right after we were served, but we were still handed the bill in plenty of time to make the door time at the concert at night. Not only was our server tending bar, but he was friendly and courteous about serving food as well.
The selection of menu items was fantastic. Mussels and Foie Gras as well as Rosemary frites and burgers on the menu. Seven different styles of ale were available and the Green Peppercorn Triple was a treat. The size of the servings were just enough to leave you stuffed.
The value was reasonable. The cost of well crafted ales and burgers was well within budget and everything was fresh and tasty. The option of top shelf Scotch, desserts made in house and personal sized pizzas was a delight. I would return any time I am in the area-Well worth the trip.
