Stopped in here with a few friends for lunch today. It was our first, and hopefully last, visit.

When I heard we were going to a brewpub for lunch, I got pretty excited (standard). When we arrived, I realized it was actually just a beer bar and grill - there were two "Good" (i.e. house) ales on-tap, but I assume they're either private labels or contract brewed. That was fine though, especially when I spotted a Firestone Reserve Series tap handle.

The hostess led us to a table at the end of the front patio, and while the view isn't great along that part of Sunset Boulevard, it was still nice being outside on a warm Los Angeles afternoon. We easily able to hold conversation, and the atmosphere was comfortable. It would have been nice if there was a bit more space between the tables (I'm a pretty small guy, but still had to ask the people behind me to scoot their chairs in so I could get out).

While the beer selection was large, it was made up almost entirely of generic, easily obtainable beers; much like the beer selection at a Yard House. Their beer menu was categorized by country and, to some extent, style, and also included brief descriptions for each offering. Oddly enough, the menu omitted pricing. I later discovered why: some of the prices were outrageously high! How about $7.95 for 12oz. of Firestone's Walker's Reserve Porter? That's more than 4x the price I could get it for in a bottle!

The hidden high prices didn't stop with the beer. After choosing the "Coachella" sandwich off the food menu, the waitress asked me which side dish I'd prefer: fries, onion rings, or sweet potato fries. When the bill came around at the end, there was a $2.00 "sub sweet potato" under my entree. Thanks for mentioning that! Also, each one of us were less than satisfied with our meals.

And yes, our waitress was awful. After rudely attempting to correct us on menu items and neglecting to bring us water (even after asking her twice), she split up our bill wrong. Please understand that I'm a very laid back individual, and I usually give servers the benefit of the doubt (after having worked as one for a few years), but this service was awful! We didn't leave any tip.

I don't know much about the LA beer scene, but I assume there's got to be a better bar in the vicinity. "Good" is putting it very, very nicely. Not recommended.

Was pleasantly surprised to walk into this place and see a vast wall of bottle selections. I did a double take when I saw both Parabola & Abacus. The beers were organized by style; Flanders Reds and other fine Belgians caught my eye along with solid representation from Germany, Goose Island and of course the west coast.

The standouts on tap were a few local breweries, i.e. Hangar 24 & Black Market along with others including Ommegang and GI once again.

Everyone in my group enjoyed their food and the service was quite friendly and attentive. Three of us sipped the last Parabola and though a little pricey, it was worth every penny. The only real flaw was that the glassware was not consistent to style.

Based on the reviews here, I was not expecting much but this place far exceeded expectations. There are plenty of brews for any BA to enjoy along with tasty grub and an amicable location.

Good's name is just about all you need to know. This place is good, but not great.

It's one of the toughest calls to make though, in terms of recommending to fellow BAs.

The beer list is formidable, there is no question of that. Everything they list they have, or apparently so; our party of nine didn't order anything to only be told "sorry, we're out of that." This happens frequently in other places with huge bottle menus. (and do check out the to-go bottles they have available, room temp and in coolers...cann be seen in the hallway that leads to the restrooms. Huge selection!) Lots of Belgians, quality Americans, Germans and British...and many other countries represented as well. I was served a bottle of Tripel Karmeliet in an unfrosted, style-appropriate glass. (One bothersome note: they don't list prices on the huge bottle menu.)

Right, the frosted glass. If you order a draft, you get one. I was super happy with the flavor, temperatue and serving size of the Firestone IPA I ordered (huge heavy goblet!), but why the glass is frosted is beyond me. The frost was already thawing when it came to the table, but c'mon...really?

Didn't try the three or four house beers they had, because the styles offered were the usual ho-hum, and they just couldn't draw attention away from the many non-house offerings.

Food was okay. The house salad was very good, but the vegetarian penne pasta was nothing I couldn't do better at home, and nothing I haven't had much better elsewhere.

Atmosphere was pretty weak...not a lot going on there. Like atmosphere was an afterthought, or a non-thought. At least it was on the darker side, something I always prefer, and that helped hide the lack of character.

So...enough to like and no huge regrets, yet could use improve in a few basic areas. Check it out if it's not a stretch to get there.

I was brought here for the first time for a birthday dinner. It was very dark inside, and uninviting - something I usually like, but this place was somehow different, fake almost. Their tap list was pretty mediocre, I ended up getting a Anderson Valley Oatmeal Stout. They did have a decent bottle list, but nothing was priced and I didn't go for a bottled beer anyways. The waitress was pushy and unfriendly and angered me from the start. I just tried to drink up and ignore her. All the beers they serve are in a giant frozen goblet type glass - weird? Anyways once our food arrived everything changed. Their food was pretty good. I tried some of their exorcism burger that had a "monster crispy melted cheddar cheese halo". Crazy but good. Also tried their Mac n cheese which was just meh and their chicken and waffles which is always good if u ask me. Their food was their redemption. Expected more for beer here and was disappointed but their food was pretty damn good. All in all I'd go back if I was in the area again but wouldn't seek it out.

The place was dark and the only real illumination was from the flat screen TVs strategically located throughout the dining room. There was outside seating along Sunset Blvd, which would have been nice only it was one of the few rainy days in LA so we sat inside. The service was great and the server seemed very knowledgeable. The only draw back is that the server appeared to be alone so service was just a little slow. The selection of beers was impressive, and though the draught beer was limited their seemed to be good representation of styles on tap. One comment, the Good brewed beer selection was lacking so if your motivation for going to Good is trying Good's beers, skip it. The food was decent, but for what it cost I was not impressed.

The boring name says it all. I felt like I was walking into a TGI Fridays or something. The decor/atmosphere blows, yet the beer selection is quite extensive. But, that's deceiving. Sure, they've got a lot of beers, but nothing that's going to blow your mind because you can't get it anywhere else. Overall this place is mediocre, just like the food. I wouldn't waste my time by going here again, mainly because of the atmosphere. It's not a place I want to drink a good beer at. Sorry, but this place has got some work to do if it wants to label itself Good.

Went here on the way to the Dodgers...had heard the name mentioned and figured I'd give it a try.

For a Friday night, the place was pretty dead. I admit, it was about 5:30, so a bit early for dinner, but there were only about 10 other people in the whole place. Outside seating looked nice, the inside was cluttered and the decor spartan (at best) and there were boxes and stuff all over the place. In the front there's a tiny bar and some beer fridges. There were TV's everywhere, and they were showing a tennis match, but the sattelite kept freezing which was really bothersome. What's the point of having lots of nice TV's if they don't work?

I had no problems with the service...the waiter was attentive, got us our food and drinks within a reasonable amount of time. Didn't really seem to know too much about beer I suppose. But again, no real complaints.

Selection is ok. The bottle selection is pretty impressive, especially with the Belgian and European beers. Tap selection is nothing to write home about. I did get a Kwak and it was served in appropriate glassware.

Got a burger and it was quite good, although they went a bit crazy on the cheese (in their defense, I order the "ring of cheese" burger, so I think it was supposed to have a ridiculous amount of cheese). My buddy had a salad and said it was good.

Prices were pretty average for LA. Wasn't too expensive, wasn't particularly cheap.

Overall I'd say, if they clean the place up a bit and fix the TV's, this is a solid beer restaurant. If you're looking for a bar atmosphere, this really isn't the right place to go. With the plethora of other options in the Silverlake/Los Feliz/Echo Park area, I dunno if I'd go out of my way to go here again.

Ah good, I live within walking distance of this place and have been there many, many times. Finally thought I should give it a review on here.

As per most of what everyone else said they do actually have a decent beer selection, its some times hit and miss, but for the most part they keep up with it. I once took my dad here and he asked the waiter to reccomend something off of the beer list, and the responce he got was "sorry I really dont know anything about the beer on there" followed by "they dont let us taste the beers"...HUH?

decent food, good (no joke) beer, horrible management, confused service, I actually wish good were self-serve with a chef in back, might improve the experience. I will occasionally run in and grab a bottle or two to take home, but probably not going to eat there again for a while. A few improvements and this place would be amazing.
