Well I had gone to total wine since it opened in my area 2 years ago and it was my go to store
Until they stopped sending me coupons, store there beer improperly, and do not appreciate a return customer. I was spending approximately $300 a month on an average and basically now have went to about $20 to $40 a month if I happen to find something there. The prices have went up to where I can go other stores and pay less get better service and they appreciate that I come back. The other day I called the customer service and asked them why I have not received a coupon for months and they told me they didnt know and could not tell me when I would get another. Also they always send me coupons which I don't use like wine why not send those along with the 4-6 pck and bomber coupon so I can actually use them. Needless to say I have found many stores which appreciate me spending my money there. Does anyone else have similar issues

I haven't gotten a coupon in a while either, don't know what's up with that.
But, I can say that even without the coupon, their prices are lower than anybody on every damn beer and six pack they have in the store.

Customer service has been fine for me, the cashier takes my money with a smile every time. What kind of customer service experience are you expecting?

Eh, I never expect much out of Total Wine just as I don't expect much out of any big box retailer, they are there to provide you a good selection for a good price which the ones in my area do. That said, I'll gladly pay a few extra bucks to shop at a local shop so I can deal with people that care about me and the products they are selling.

They don't treat customers the correct way. Asking an employee a question is like having to pull teeth.

All you people complaining about shit like coupons, and happy hour the other week, don't realize how good you have it.

Didn't know Total Wine had coupons. I'll look into that.

Their employees are clueless and they definitely let bottles linger, but I go there for the pricing only.

They only mark up there craft beer 10-15% and BMC products pennies above cost. They just want foot traffic and hope they can turn a few onto private label wines.

I am a huge fan of the local guy and almost never frequent TW. I recognize that if you know what you want and can determine it is fresh, then where you get it doesn't matter. However, the local guy knows what I like and is quick to recommend something new I may have overlooked. The extra 1$ a six is worth it.

I love Total Wine. My "go to" store is the one in Huntington Beach, and I have always received fantastic service. Whenever I can't find something I just ask and they get it instantly. Prices are lower than most everywhere else also.

I also love that I can browse their inventory online even before I go to the store, I save a lot of trips that way when something I want is out of stock.

It's pretty standard marketing strategy to open up with super low prices and coupons and then as you build up a customer base (and for Total Wine's case, kill off competition) you slowly raise prices back up.

While I like that they have their inventory online, it seems like often their online database isn't on the same frequency as their stock. Frequently I'll notice something available online, go to the store only to find it's out of stock.

I don't mind the store as the prices are ok and they do have stuff that I can't get in my LBS. My only problem is the customer service in their Laguna store is a complete mess. I have had to ask someone for help a couple of times and I got blown off with the standard "Uhh let me go find someone else" or treated like I was an idiot. I now treat TW like i do Frys, You go in there knowing what you are looking for and get the hell out.

I like Total Wine, because I know what I want, I can find what I'm expecting to find there, and they have the lowest prices...for the most part.

I'm not sure what kind of customer service you're expecting when they typically have the lowest prices around. Did you want them to save a bottle of the super specail releases just for you?

I do miss the $10 off $50 purchases they were doing during the holidays.

Again...with such low prices, they are not going to hire Cicerones man.

Not trying to be a prick here but I think you are assuming my level of "Want" with their Customer Service. if i am buying a bunch of stuff I expect not to be treated like an idiot when i ask as simple question.

I am not asking things like "How many layers of lacing should be in a glass?" I am asking things more on the level of "Can you point me to where item A or B is" and "Can you recommend type a or b of stout"

Even the last question above might be asking too much.

They should know where beers are at on a shelf, i'll give you that, but I think it's a little much to trust any recommendation they would give.

They rose a lot of the prices on the six and twelve packs by a buck or two in the past year. I used to get $2 off coupons all the time, but now I can't even find a $1 off coupon that isn't expired. Oh well. If anybody has some links to fresh new coupons, let me know.
