Hell ya! I'm heading over for the MLIW show too. And Zombie Burger afterwards. It's going to be a great night.

Oh score! Were you at the "last show" in Marshalltown?

Thanks for the info! I'm going to try and track down some Crooked Stave while there as well. I've heard nothing but good things.

All 4 of Crooked Stave's regular lineup beers are available at Ankeny HyVee as well.

You don't live in Omaha at least some of the time CowsandBeer (I know your state always says KS, but seems like you are in Omaha often from some posts)?

Anyways, plenty of Crooked Stave and Prairie bottles in Council Bluffs is why I ask.

Don't know if it is still on, but last Tuesday El Bait Shop tapped Prairie Bomb.

Yeah, I'm kinda up there like once a month. For some reason I assumed Council Bluffs wouldn't get that stuff. But now that I know, I'm for sure going to check it out. Thanks man.

Check with Hy Vee on Fleur (very close to airport) as well as they generally have Prairie and Crooked Stave offerings...and could be on the way downtown if you're coming in from the south.

Des Moines is not getting Sue and Sosus bottles until "next week." No specific date yet. Murph is currently busy with deliveries to all of his other Iowa accounts. It's coming though!

Bell's Expedition, Java Stout, Third Coast and Founders Breakfast are all hitting select Des Moines accounts today!

    Thanks!
So in this thread's opinion, which is the best store to hit up in Des Moines?
I'm for sure going to hit up El Bait Shop and Zombie Burger. El Bait Shop's current tap list is unreal.

For bottle shops, you really can't go wrong with Ankeny #2 HyVee, Pleasant Hill HyVee or Fleur HyVee. All 3 have pretty similar selections and are hands and feet above any other shops in town. If I currently had to choose one shop to hit, it would be Ankeny#2 for sure.

For draft options, El Bait is a must hit for sure (usually 100+ taps and solid fod). Keg Stand is also great (killer wings too), Zombie Burger (great burger and a small, but impressive tap list) and Univeristy Library Cafe (again, small, but awesome tap list).

FBS should be tomorrow, in the Iowa City area at least.

Sosus and PseudoSue in IC. I've claimed some of the beasts.

Wow, the new Ankeny HyVee does have a great beer selection! That will save me from having to make trips to John's in Iowa City. They are getting things that I can't even get at Cyclone in Ames. What a promising sight to see for a grocery store selection.

Toppling Goliath gone from our shelves at John's Grocery already. No surprise. I rarely buy special releases at the store but I had to get a Sosus. Loved it last time.

I thought with a limit of one everywhere they would be around for a few hours, but that certainly wasn't the case. Everyone seems to have sold out in minutes not hours.

Grabbed one of each. I really didn't feel like driving all over to grab multiples. Sosus is a great beer though.

Sosus is even better than I remembered, such a great beer. Got a few of each and very glad. Both Hy-vee locations that got it were sold out within an hour. Crazy

Waterloo/Cedar Falls never got a shipment of Sosus last time it was bottled. We have yet to get it this time either. And I'm not seeing a delivery mentioned. We usually get our stuff on the same shipment as Des Moines from TG, even though DSM is twice as far away from Decorah as CF. Makes no sense to me why they never hit here on their Cedar Rapids and Iowa City runs, which are on the same side of the state as Cedar Falls.

Glad to see Madison got their alotment though. And it sounds like Hudson is getting it before us too. It just sucks as a long time TG supporter. Waterloo/CF was one of the first big markets they were in, and we have them on tap at several places around town. But when they bottle, we always get passed over. Even though its only an hour and a half away from Decorah. No offense to you outta staters, but you have NG and Surly. I wish TG would satisfy their Iowa accounts before going out of state.
