The regions you used are not regions but divisions within regions. BA didn't make them, they existed long before.

I accidentally submitted the thread before it was finished and they deleted the one with the finished poll so I had to do it over sorry dude. Carl Weathers wouldn't have let them throw it away, there was plenty of meat on those bones. :grinning:

I voted Great Lakes because I am biased but in my defense, Great Lakes Brewing, Bells', Founders, Goose Island, New Glarus, and Three Floyds... just to name a few. Big-time breweries out here that are relevant around the country. This is not to dismiss other breweries out there (there are some mighty fine ones all over the Country) but it seems like the Great Lakes is pretty stacked.

I guess NJ is mid Atlantic and then the rest of the northeast is New England.

The region i live in would be considered the south and i would love to know how where i live is not considered for a great place to be for craft beer. For example i can locally here in west kentucky can get all kinds of great things just in my state alone and i can get to atleast three other states in less than an hour and a half which will present all kinds of new craft beer choices for me. Just add all the distrobution for kentucky, illinois, missouri and tennessee and tell me that doesnt equal an awesome craft beer region.

i like where the mid atlantic is right now and it is only getting better..sixpoint, ommegang, dogfish, victory, to name a few...it's human nature to pick sides like this and a little friendly competition is always fun but let's not forget the big picture in regards to the fact that the entire world is watching and has been inspired by what america's craft scene is accomplishing...fun times to be a part of

Yeah, realistically I don't see how you could vote for anything but the great lakes region. Founders and Three Floyds alone account for a significant amount of the top portion of a lot of american-style beer lists. Nevermind Bell's, Kuhnhenn, Goose Island, New Glarus, Great Lakes, Surly, way too many to list.

I live in the Boston area, not biased at all.

For anybody who's attended GABF, BA's regional breakdowns roughly parallel their demarcations. I voted the straight Mountain ticket because it's most familiar to me as I live in CO but do travel for work and put a big shout out for the Great Lakes where there's some outstanding innovation taking place there: GLBC, Fatheads, Bells,Thirsty Dog, Dark Horse, Southern Tier, etc...

Since Pacific and NW were divided, it was easy to pick Great Lakes (Founders, FFF, Bell's). If Pacific and NW were combined then it would be a no-brainer.

I find the beer scene in Vermont to be the most interesting in our country personally. Such awesome brewers that have set up shop and operate like backwoods mad scientists. Its like the brewery version of Field of Dreams or the Woodstock festival. Brew it and they will come!

Maybe I forget how to play this game, but I thought the idea was to list only exceptional breweries. If I'm not mistaken, you now have to drink a beer from each sub-par brewery you listed before your second attempt.
