Anything by the late critic Michael Jackson from England. The Great Beer Guide is now growing a bit out of date, but it is still a great book.

Well, that's a pretty unusual way to express a book review.

I am paying attention to this post with interest, loosely compiling a working list of these titles; if anyone wants it thus far, IM me. Cheers!

Amazon wants $285 - $340 right now for Lambicland. I just bought one for $32 shipped from books about beer in England. thanks for the heads up.

Tasting Beer, Randy Mosher. The Michael Jackson books are good, but a bit older, as he passed in 2007. Brewer's Association does some nice focused topic books, such as "For the Love of hops".

I second the Pete Brown recommendation. I have read and enjoyed all of his books. In addition to the three titles mentioned, he has also written "Shakespeare's Local" which tells the history of a still operational pub in London that has been in business for about 600 years.

    Other books I have enjoyed:

    Ultimate Beer by Michael Jackson
Eyewitness Companion: Beer by Michael Jackson
Beer and Philosophy: The Unexamined Beer Isn't Worth Drinking by Steven Hales
The Craft Beer Revolution by Steve Hindy
