I save all of the ones I don't have duplicates of. I plan on doing something similar. Possibly a tabletop or something, with a clear epoxy coat over them.

Nail them upside down on a 24" x 18" piece of wood to scrape yer boots on.

That's a good idea. I wear out my boot scrapers constantly and need a cheap way to redo the scraping surface. Looking forward to at least a good hour of scraping when I get home from work.

I save the most attractive caps for a future project. I have been saving the following

    Terrapin
    Hopslam
    Echt Kriekenbier
    GI
    Bruery
    FFF
    DFH vintage beers (green caps)

any thoughts on other sweet caps?

I have them saved in mason jars, and have no idea why.

I save mine for a "future project". Honestly though, I'll probably never get around to actually doing it. So there they sit collecting dust in the workshop in a 5 gallon water jug.

I glue little round magnets to them and decorate the fridge with them. Gotta pretty good collection going at this point!

there's a bar by me that framed their bathroom mirrors with caps. it actually looks pretty cool.

EDIT: drunk idiots do pry them off from time to time but if you put it in your home i doubt you'd run into that problem.

I regret selling 500 different caps last year at a yard sale.

I either throw them away or put them in a desk drawer. I have no intention of doing anything with them, but I keep adding the "collection".

Save them for the 100th day of school project when the kids have to bring in 100 of something.

The magnets I buy you don't need glue. They stick by themselves like magic.

I sell them on eBay, complete with the bottle and contents they came with.

! The value of the item is in the collectible bottle cap, not what's underneath it.
    - The bottle cap has not been removed and any incidental contents of the bottle are not intended for consumption.
    - The bottle cap is not available at any retail outlet, and the item has a value that substantially exceeds the current retail price of the alcohol in the container.
    - The seller will take all appropriate steps to ensure the the buyer is of lawful age in the buyer and sellers jurisdiction (generally 21 years of age).
    - Buyers and sellers both ensure that the sale complies with all laws and shipping regulations.

Easier to throw into the recycle bin (whether or not you want to save the mason jar).
