    Folks,

Wanted to start a discussion about any new import sightings.

    • Hook Norton (UK) - seen in Danno's - seem to be brought in direct like Ballast Point, the good thing on this one if the price - hitting the $5 mark for a 500ml makes some of Danno's other shelf pollution in terms of the Pommie offerings seem out of place.
    • Heretic Shallow Grave (US) - seen in Jim's Waitara. Don't know any more apart from the fact that Jim's has an e-x-t-e-n-s-i-v-e range of Sierra Nevada (well, for the North Shore suburbs anyhow) and I guess this is bought in by same import mob - have not seen elsewhere.

Any other recent odd import sightings that have not been aired recently?

    Cheers

Heretic started coming over 3 months ago, and should be available at the usual good places.

$15 seems a bit steep. But then again, they certainly aren't the cheapest English beers going around.

There is a lot coming through in the next 2-3 months. And when I say a lot, I mean like... way, way, way, way too much.

Inveralmond also seen recently in Vintage Cellars - three beers - but cannot recall the exact ones, except Lia Fail springs to mind.

Lia Fail, Blackfriar and Ossian have been on the shelves at First Choice Liquor in Jandakot for a while now. The Blackfriar in particular is nice.

Just heard Fullers Brewers Reserve #4, 2012 Vintage Ale & the new Past Masters Old Burton Extra aren't on the next Fullers shipment out here. Hopefully they make the first shipment of 2013.

The imports lost their one and only beer guy, so not surprised of things like that being missing.

Interested in the thoughts of the Victorians who went along to the "First Time ever in Australia" for BridgePort

Not surprised about that. The brewery itself are easy to deal with. Not so the import company.

does anyone know anything re whether we will get the re-brew of I Hardcore You here? - the Brewdog/Mikkeller collab. It was re-released a few months back but I have not seen it n recent Brewdog shipments... available at STG2.99 online from Brewdog at the time, so not xxxx-y pricewise.

Not on the websites of Leura or Slowbeer. Warners at the Bay lists it, but not sure which batch. And the price for it is a bit more than 3 quid ;-)

Man, he must like taking a punt...$31 for a 330ml IPA that's a couple of years old from the other side of the world is not the kinda odds i like. Hope Warners kept it in the fridge!

$31!!! I could get it landed (by air freight) and pay duty and GST on it (if assessed) and it would only cost $10.35 for a bottle. Add $11 to ship up to 5 bottles anywhere in the country and we are still well under $31. The other price shocker is the Abstrakt range which I can land here for $18 but shops are charging $36.

Note that I pay UK retail less 20% (which is a standard case discount rate anyway) so it's not like I'm buying it at wholesale prices.

We had it online for $12 for about 2 weeks. (or four for 40, I think). It didn't last long at all.
