Considering I'm going to the Black Friday event, I'm a little unimpressed with what goose is bringing other then the random barrel bcbs.

Meh. I see it as an opportunity to take some tickets and sample some new stuff.

Ah, but don't forget that there is more than one Goose Island entity at FoBAB. In one of my earlier posts, for instance, I quoted Jered Rouben (Goose Island Clybourn) stating that he doesn't like releasing information about what he's bringing to FoBAB early, though he did confirm that XOCOLATL will be there. (I know of one other entry that he'll be bringing that he has not confirmed publicly which I have been fortunate to try, and it is worth seeking out during your FoBAB session).

XOCOLATL took a place in the experimental category last year if I recall. Good beer

I'd be cool with another shot at Honey B.

The variations will be nothing but stellar most likely...Manhattan BCBS from last year was, if nothing else, very interesting...Ghost Pepper Chili, well I didn't try it but heard more of the same about that one. Might not be a NEW beer, but there will be something that we have never tried.

Taking the red-eye from LA to Chicago tonight---giddy like a little kid for Saturday (and beer adventures tomorrow and Friday). Look forward to meeting some BAs around town and at the event. I'll be the bald guy with glasses.

Had Manhattan BCS at GTOM. Could easily live without it. Didnt think it improved BCS at all. Just a little extra spice

Second session. Also planning on making the Very Mad Cow release and perhaps the Local Option event on Friday night.

Don't lie. You got to tick a box so it wasn't that bad!

Do it, Local Option is the shit. That tap list is super nice as well. Get some Swordfish tacos when you need some grub.

Last year's offerings from Goose Island at FoBAB:

    Amara
    BCBS Bramble Rye
    BCBS Coffee
    BCBS
    Ghost Pepper BCBS
    Manhattan Barrel Aged BCBS
    Heartwood Symposium Ale
    King Henry
    Lolita
    Madame Rose
    Scarlett

The only new offerings that had not previously been introduced to the general public at a previous festival or tasting were the Ghost Pepper BCBS and Manhattan BCBS.

Seeing that Goose Island announced that 'We'll have BCS, BCS Cherry, King Henry, Madame Rose, plus many single barrel variations of BCS. #FOBAB' - it would appear the lineup is very similar, minus Amara, Lolita, and Scarlett.

    Though they did later clarify:

Which suggests to me that the variations aren't going to be too crazy. As mentioned above (or in the other FOBAB thread, I don't know), it will probably be like the "blend your own BCS" thing that's popped up before.

I didn't see the later Tweet, so thanks for the clarification!

Just got a response from Goose Island on Twitter stating that it will be "different" from what they had set up at the Great Taste - which should be interesting to see - specifically,

'BCS in three different kinds of whiskey barrels, plus BCS in a wine barrel'
