I dont care much for it. The last time it shelves it moved rather slow, my local spot had them for like a month and I remember that whole foods had them a while too. I guess cause of the price tag. Although this releases tend to move faster and faster every yr.

It's a great beer but it's not amazing and definitely doesn't validate the price point for a bottle that size.

Most Lost Abbey bottles cost that much for same size bottle

Like Black OPS, I don't understand how one of the most affordable RISs are $20+ a bottle just because they are barrel aged.

I bought this last year. $23 for (I think) a 500ml bottle. For that price, I feel it is fair to be critical and to expect a great beer. It was nowhere near great and, in fact, may even have been infected. No way I'm buying it again.

Just ordered 1 bottle to drink, 1 bottle to age from letspour. I'm excited to try it out! (bought 4 other beers so I got free shipping and they are running $10 off special now)

Alabama just passed the "big bottle" law this year, so it's our first time to see it on shelves this week....was excited to try it so I bought 1 to drink and 1 to age....but at $40 I couldn't help but feel I would have been happier walking out with 2 Imperial Biscotti Break for $30..

Its really good and on par with BCBS and Parabola IMO, but it is pricy, I picked it up for $20.99 at an organic grocer here in Chico, CA

I loved this beer when I first found it. I can tell you this the 12th An bottles are way better and not just cause its got a little age on it. 12 was better from the get go. The head on the 14th was brown kinda coco colored. The 12th was a purple lace. This beer is not bad but there are much better picks for the price. Try to find your self a 12th anniversary batch and drink them side by side. You will see what im talking about. 12th was just way better, almost seemed like 2 different brews.

i have a bottle of the XIV i plan on drinking next week. i agree on the price tag, though. north coast over prices all of their big bottles. i was at a store the other day that charged $30 for their bottle of grand cru. if it were 750ml, i could maybe justify if i had the cash, but i cannot spend $30 for essentially a pint bottle.

Last time I dropped $20 for a bottle it was black ops - very disappointing but wouldn't mind trying this one.

Whoa, local dive store didn't have it in their price system, asked how much and he said, "I'll let it go at the bargain price of $7.99, but you can only buy one". Lucky for him, would've cleaned him out right then and there. He probably lost money on this bottle.

Phenomenal fresh but this series ages HORRIBLY. The XI and XII are awful right now.

For $20 its just ok. I would rather put an extra $10 and get me a bottle of one of the 50/50 EC

I would be happy if they departed from this deceptive bottle format (500 ml that looks like it holds 750ml) and actually gave you a few more ounces for your money and trouble.
