I wouldn't be surprised if the ethanol content increases the solubility of the caffeine.

I'd like to try that with Faretti (biscoti flavored liqueur), maybe it'll taste like Biscoti Break (one of the few hyped beers I actually want to try!!)

I don't have a French Press, but I wonder how well this would work with the Eva Solo that we use. I think I'm going to try this soon. . .

Its hard to extract the flavor out of coconut like that, but i enjoyed it. The coconut was pretty moist to begin with so at the end I collected all the shreds at the bottom and pressed the ever living crap out of them. THAT liquid was amazing.

We've done this the last few Christmases with vintage Old Stock and figs that had been soaked for a few weeks in brandy with spices (1-2 allspice berries, a clove, a blade of mace). Really, really excellent.

Pressing a fruity IPA with chunks of pineapple or mango also highly recommended.

Wonder if this would work with a pour over method, so as to avoid grounds in the beer. I have both a French Press and a Hario pour over system, perhaps I'll grab a couple bottles of a nice/relatively inexpensive imperial stout and compare each.

I added a small amount of chocolate syrup to a Rouge chocolate stout, it actually made it taste better. Then I added more and it tasted like crap

Lambic drink predates gueuze. The mixture is usually aged overnight in a Don Quijote 750.

We did Black Tuesday and it was the best beer I have ever had, french pressed only part of the bottle then mixed the coffee and non coffee version together. Was amazing

This sounds awesome - how much coffee (ground or whole bean) are you using per 12 oz? 22?

My Saturday afternoons may have just gotten more productive...

My French press holds about 16 oz I think. I just know that there's always a bit left in a bomber when I put it in there. I use about as much coffee grounds as I would use to make the equivalent amount of normal coffee--about half a cup, I guess.

You guys are doing this with cold beer? So essentially you are doing a VERY quick cold press of coffee with beer. This sounds like it could work, you won't get any caffeine but I am guessing that is not the point.

In terms of the cannabis thing although I'm sure there are multiple threads on it, there would be no drug effect. You might be able to integrate the taste of the cannabis flowers (which could be interesting but probably not worth the money) but the THC would not integrate as in beer there is simply too little alcohol or anything else to extract the THC.
