I can't wait for it to warm up a little so I can make the river north area brewery crawl. With the right plan, you could conceivably start at Beck and Renegade and work your way north with the light rail to DBC, Prost, the 'Koop, and over to Great Divide and all of the new stuff north of the ballpark.

Might have to check that out when I get back to Colorado.

In one day after GABF I went with a friend to 7 of them, we hit DBC, Prost, Great Divide, RiNo, OMF, Black Shirt and Crooked Stave. If you added Hogshead & Wynkoop it's feasibly 9.

Breckenridge likely to stay in CO, move to new facility to increase capacity to 150k bbls

I posted a link to this story early today in Beer News; not sure why it got deleted...

    "
Weyerbacher founder to Verboten Brewing on using trademarked name: “no problem”
"We love the name, but we were really sweating because of the whole Strange thing." So, Grenz e-mailed Dan Weirback, who founded Weyerbacher in 1995, to explain the situation. "He sent us back a really nice e-mail and said he wasn’t into litigation. He was very generous, and he said that that was the way the industry should be."
Weirback had to change his beer name from Zotten to Verboten three years ago due to a trademark dispute…but chose not to do the same to someone else."

I'll remember that:slight_smile: I've never needed an excuse to drink Weyerbacher but I like them even better now.

Hall Brewing in Parker is going to start distributing next week; http://www.hallbrewingco.com. They'll be around Cornerstar next Saturday for a tasting. I know nothing about them, anyone have other info? Tried their beers?

Anyone see the article in the Denver Business Journal today? 3 new breweries to open in Lafayette this summer. Front Range Brewing, Odd13 Brewing and The Post Brewing.

I'm still puzzled Lakewood hasn't seen any more growth. Breweries are popping up all around them but all they seem to have is Ironworks.

Very cool - I used to live in those apartments behind it. That area is another brewery "dead zone." Glad to see people looking at the 'burbs more. While I'm sure everyone would love to be downtown, some of these neighborhoods would love to have their own pub. Places like Copper Kettle, Arvada, and Lone Tree are packed with nothing but people that live within 5 minutes of their tasting rooms.

Yea, I like both strategies, while I'd hope every neighborhood has their own brewpub, I kinda like doing brewery crawls downtown and being able to walk to 5-10 different breweries in an afternoon :grinning:

Excited to have another brewery to walk to from my place, Black Sky, but what I've seen about it has me worried:

-We already have a heavy metal brewery in the neighborhood and it's great
-The site is in LATIN (are you kidding me?)/the site design is atrocious
-Dude works at Breckenridge (not a good brewery IMO)

Prove me wrong though! I'll be there a lot if they have a decent IPA and pizza.
