Thinking of trading those two babies, any ideas what the are going for lately?

    Thanks a million!

If I had them I'd be thinking of drinking them.

    1. Just drink them.
    2. If you feel like you need trade them, figure out a beer or two or three that you'd like to try and put up a FT:ISO post.

I'd strongly suggest #1. Find a friend that likes good beer, invite him or her over, have them bring a good beer, and drink them. If you're more interested in "what they are going for," you're probably doing it wrong.

Well thanks for the advice. I know how the FT:ISO forum is working. And I figured about tasting and friends. Funny how a simple thread get high-jack by people who get offended for nothing. I just wanted to have an idea, that's all. If you think I'm the kind of guy who's doing ebay auction type, look at me reference and you'll see I'm not that kind of guy. Anyway thanks for the feedback...

See, I think you don't really get it. Trade it for beers you would like to try or drink it. Asking what they're going for makes it seem like you're trying to "win."

There's too many of these kind of posts. Drink it or ask for something you want to drink.

Don't see who is offended, I happen to love Abyss and I would rather drink them than trade them. I would make you an offer for them but I have a few things going on right now and dont want to have too much ongoing at the same time.

You are right, maybe I was on the fence here. My bad. Maybe my post sounded like: I have these two beers, how many KH can I have for them...

I was thinking Cherry Rye if I was thinking not sure the KH unit balance there though...

Here's a constructive comment for you: what are some beers you'd be looking for in exchange, or particular styles you enjoy? I'd definitely be interested in swinging a trade for these if I've got some stuff you'd want (I'm going to fill out my gots later, or a CellarHQ list, have been swamped at work the past week and just got back from a conference).

If I were you Id drink them soon or trade them off. Just had my last 07 on New Years Eve and while its still a great beer its falling off imo.

We just did a full vertical a couple days before Christmas. Consensus was that '06 and '08 were the two best vintages. I thought '06 was the best, many others thought the '08 was the tops. '07 was decent, but was fourth behind '11. I would say drink that '08, its drinking great right now.

You'll have a hard time trading them if you're doing so internationally. They aren't that difficult to get, so adding in ridiculous shipping costs would be a deal breaker for me.

First time I've seen a tasting of this sort that didn't have 10' in the top 2 spots.

'08 then '06 were the best at our tasting this summer, followed by the '10. '07 was still good but, as someone upstream noted, has already crested the hill.

The exact value is one Stille Nacht Reserva 2010 and a 2012 Fou Foune in an international trade.
    Send me a BM.
