a friend of mine is a brewer at GI, and he told me that it might have been the imperial stout resulting from the second runnings of the base beer for BCBS (but that no one actually knew for sure what was in that keg).

I think they released a small beer from BCS in the past (draft only -- I think it was around Craft Beer Week 2011?). It was called Lazarus (and still came in at ~9%ABV).

I must be in the minority when I say that I did not like the Vanilla. I had bought a bunch when I found them on a shelf. After I drink one I couldn't wait to get rid of them. (I don't have any left).

I was surprised that I liked the Bramble as much as I did.

I guess if everybody liked the same thing, there wouldn't be so much to choose from!

I'm in the other category. I really loved the wine barrel aged one at FoBAB 2012.

I'd agree with you, but I'd have to stop drooling first since Vanilla got mentioned.

Of those listed ,the Rare, but the Neopolitan I had at Great Taste in2011 was one of the most amazing beers I've ever had. The Chocolate BCS I had the the BCS blending class was memorable

Vanilla and Coffee blended on tap is pretty legit also, forgot about that one.

Split a bottle of Cherry Rye last nite with friends. Had it with brownies and cherry ice cream ( on the side). Beer was amazing. Have not had other varieties so can not compare, but man that beer rocked.

The best ever Coffee version I had was not a bottled batch.

It was a draft only batch called Honey Badger that was making the rounds in Spring/Summer of 2011.

I'd pick Black Cat for my favorite of the bottled stuff.

It's been at various Goose take-overs as well. It would be hard to confuse it for a BCBS treatment though, as it wasn't barrel-aged and is much lighter in body.

Baudoinia is right up there. Just had it this afternoon, incredible. Like a lump of chocolate fudge soaked in bourbon.

I'd like to hear as well. Vanilla was my favorite beer fresh, however... the last few times i've had it it tastes like regular BCS. I haven't had rare in a long time (I guess I should open my bottles soon), but 2009 BCS is epic. Absolutely destroyed the 2012 when we did a side by side last month. I can't imagine Rare tasting worse than '09, which was phenominal.
