The last Jester King that John recieved at HEB was Bonnie (several months ago). For some reason they just quit shipping him Jester King. He told me that he is tired of getting screwed by the distributor and might consider dropping all Jester King beers till they start sending him the limited releases again.

Is RU tart and sour or is there some funk in it as well?

Agreed with RonBurgundy69 (Really? 69 at the end? I feel like a douche typing that). RU55 is a fantastic flanders red, tart (think lemons) yet there is a nice barrel characteristic that comes through. Great beer. Not funky like brett finished beer (no barnyard or horseblanket type flavors to me).

Thanks Jeff, I thought it was newer. You mentioned trying to make it year round before.

In response to the others about RU. I definitely do not get as much chemical finish on this in at all. Much better. Nice front with some tartness and a lot of cherry, but the finish just dissipates to nothing. Definitely see promise in this one. Due to the lower chemical finish, I would have to put it right up there as my favorite sour from jester king. No bretty funk here. Did we get an answer about the name? Anything to do with the morning after pill? Lol

Maybe I'm off, but if your talking about the ru-55 name, it's tribute they're brewing friend Russ

You dont say? Speaking for myself, the "69" is the year of my birth, but I could see how others might take it another way...

Does anyone know exactly how limited RU-55 is going to be? Looking to score a bottle of this and will be putting a ISO:FT post up but I thought I'd ask.
