I agree. I had no problem finishing off a couple Miller Lite's that were left here after a get together recently, but that goddamn Shipyard Pumpkinhead thats been in my fridge since fall I refuse.

Why do the majority of beer drinks have such low standards?

I agree with you, I'd rather have a few cold watery ones than try to force down something "creative". But, "they spent a lot of time making it" they say, "support craft at all costs" they say. No. I've come to the point in my life, where I would honestly rather have a 12 pack of Miller lite in my frige (which I do), than drink something subpar for crafts sake (that would be you Diamond Bear). Drinking crappy craft for the sake of craft is like telling your friends kid that mud pie they just gave you was delicious, so the kid keeps coming back to give you filthy mud pies, each one more "creative" than the last. I dunno, maybe it's still too early and I'm too cranky, but lately I feel like any tard that likes beer that starts a brewery is a one trick pony for the novelty, and after the initial release is had by most and the hype does down, people like me come in and go "what is this crap? I've brewed better in my garage." Do I still like craft?- I may be falling out of love as the ingenuity that was inherent to it has gone, and droves of supporters flock to revel in its 15 minutes of fame. Talk all you want about BMC, but there is hardly a craft beer I want to take on a camping trip, that doesn't suffer drink ability for creativity. Pumpkin beers? Only if done right. Seems like most brewers just take their ESB, open the can of stewed pumpkin, and toss in some nutmeg and vie-oh-la! They got creative, and charge $7 a pint for that creativity. Do I have a solution? No, just observations.

I genuinely don’t have an answer for you. There seems to be a ‘trend’ that bland is popular for many things that people like to consume:

    · Beer: Bland AAL beers
    · Bread: Bland bread like Wonder bread
    · Cheese: Bland chees like Kraft American Cheese
    · Etc.

    Cheers!

Anyone working retail knows damn well that coors light doesnt come off that truck into a shop refridgerated, no beer does.

Drink some with a clean palate or drink something non-beery first.

I was drinking champagne for a couple of hours before having a miller lite and was surprised by the pilsner flavor. Not much flavor there, but what is there does taste like a decent pilsner.
