Thanks for this wonderful Thread, especially the Map that Digita7693 has available.

The only thing that I haven't found is what places are good for growler fills. Can you link a resource for that as well?

    Cheers,
    Reza

For Growlers: Baileys, Beermongers, Hop & Vine, Blitz, Belmont Station, and all breweries.
possibly Saraveza and Bridgetown, but I forget, so won't say 100%.

    cheers

I'll probably miss a few, but you can get growler fills of most beers on tap at Beermongers, Bailey's, the Hophouses, Roscoe's, and Belmont Station.

northwest liquid gold is pretty solid place to get growler fills, though not strictly in portland

Thank You all! I'm glad that I don't have to deal with Stupid CA growler laws up here!

If you're flying here keep in mind that the Laurelwood and Rogue outposts at PDX also fill growlers, and since they're past security you can carry them onto the plane with you. There's also a Made in Oregon store past the gates with a decent selection of stuff like Logsdons, Hair of the Dog, and other Oregon beers.

Just thought I'd throw that out there as something to keep in mind if your checked luggage is full and you're itching for a few more things at the last minute.

Any thoughts on visiting Block 15 from Portland?

We'll probably be renting a car to visit some other places and I was considering making the trek down there to check it out, but wasn't sure if it would be worth it or not. I gather some of their beers are available in the city, but I'm not really clear on availability, etc.

We'd love to see you at either Hophouse, and FYI, on Mondays we have half-price flights, which means you can taste 24 beers for $12, both locations. That way you can make an informed decision. Obviously, I'm biased, but I'd rather try about twenty things before I fill up a growler, especially if it's something new, and at the Hophouse, it almost always is!

I would say it's definitely a great idea to go down and visit Block 15, especially since it's their Bourbon Month right now. I'm sure there is great stuff on tap still.

I know Oregon's more flexible on growlers than CA. Can I just bring any old 64 oz. growler I own into these places?

Generally yes, although a couple people have opinions about various growler designs. (Interesting, they don't seem to agree about which ones are harder to fill.)

I've been told by one brewery "we'll fill a gas can if you want us to". Most places will also fill mason jars. I don't see why anyone would do this over just using a growler but to each their own.

Badass thread NW crew. Visiting from Austin in a few months and will be dragging the fiancee to many of the aforementioned beer joints. Thanks! - BK
