How available is Zombie Dust in the Chicago area? Particularly near O'Hara airport?
I would like to fly into O'hara Int airport for the day and pick up 12 or 24 Zombie Dust, pack suitcase and check bag in for flight back to LA. Is there a store near the airport via the "L" line that I can get to with Zombie Dust available? Or is this usually gone when it hits the shelves? And how much for a 6 pack or 12 pack? Thank you guys.

Getting Zombie is never a guarantee at any store, including the brewery. Sounds like you should setup a trade instead.

I'd give you about a 0.1% chance of accomplishing this.
The only places I ever see Zombie Dust are far, far away from O'HARE.

I would check one of the 951 threads on this exact topic for pointers.

Thanks for the response here. I am able to fly for free so I just thought I could fly in to Chicago and pick up ZD anytime and fly back home with some ZD or other goodies. I did not know it was that hard to get like Alpine or Kern River or Pliny! I have never done trades through postal. Only through the airports when other BAer's coming into LAX we can exchange as they arrive and when I'm at work here. Easier than the hassles of shipping. IMO.

If you have to, can you just arrange an IP trade for someone who's got a case of ZD in his closet and meet at the airport? All you'd have to do is go back into the security lines after that.

Good luck with that. There's numerous places along the Blue Line train that can square you away and Revolution Brewing is about 750 feet away from one of them, but there's been like a 3 cases a week per retailer type deal going on with Zombie Dust and Three Floyds hasn't really been reliably available in Chicago since like late summer or so. Either they are brewing at capacity or something else has been happening, but whatever it is, it has put a severe crimp on their availability, and a lot of places have put a limit on Zombie Dust to a one per type thing.
Do yourself and your friends a favor and load up on some bombers from Pipeworks. You'll be glad you did.

First time poster on this particular region's forum who has a similar question to the one the OP asked. My cousin lives in Louisville, Kentucky, and will be coming back to visit Pittsburgh here in a few months. How available are Gumballhead and Zombie Dust down in KY? I saw on the website that they do sell their beers in this part of the state and am inquiring about these beer's availability.

I went this weekend. It sold out all over downtown. Apparently distribution to the city is ceasing for a while. I was able to find it at Capone's. Its about 6 miles from the airport.

You are not going to find Zombie Dust much outside of Chicago or the pub. Kegs may be seen but do not count on bottles. Gumball Head is much more likely where Three Floyds is distributed.

Ya if you are going to try and find it at a store you better call around first. ZD much harder to find outside the brewpub but not impossible

Thanks for the input guys. Jesus, it looks like the only way to even try to get this stuff is to fly out to Chicago.

The FFF brewpub itself is as close to a guarantee as you can get. Monitor their online taplist and call ahead when you do go.

Just set up a locals-for-locals trade, pay the $20 in shipping, and save yourself the headache.

    EDIT:
You fly for free (flight perks?) just fly all over the place and hit all of the awesome local (local to other people!) tap-houses that have awesome beers on. You'll get Zombie Dust eventually!
