My name is Joe. I live in Woodridge, IL (just west of Chicago) with my wife and daughter. Looking to meet new folks to share my enthusiasm for solidly made brews.

There really are no styles that I dislike but there are some that I tend to lean more towards: IPAs and IIPAs, Stouts, Porters, a nice balanced Pale Ale, or a solidly made wheat beer or Pilsner in the summer. I’d like to learn more about sours and farmhouse ales and saisons (from what I’ve tried so far I’m intrigued).

My other hobbies include: writing fiction; reading; music (anything from Glenn Gould to Minor Threat to Aesop Rock); watching movies (from contemporary through silent, domestic and foreign); running and stand-up comedy (as an appreciator, not a practitioner).

Far from a conlcusive list but some of my favortie beers are:

FFF: Gumballhead, Zombie Dust and Alpha King.
Pipeworks: Everything I’ve tried has been great but I’m particularly found of anything that has "Unicorn" in the title.
Bell’s: Two Hearted, Hoplsam and Expedition Stout are favs but everything I’ve tried by them was good in its own right.
Founders: Breakfast Stout, Porter and KBS (but pretty much same deal as Bell’s).
    Boulevard: Tank 7
Goose Island: the Belgiany stuff and Bourbon County.
Beers by these breweries wouldn’t get kicked out of bed for eating crackers: Lagunitas, Stone, New Glarus, Firestone Walker, Dark Horse, Deschutes, Victory, Revolution, Half Acre, Solemn Oath, Flossmoor Station or Dogfish head.

Would love to learn more about other beers that aren’t distributed to IL via trades and participating in forums.

    Cheers,

    Joe
