  2. Yup very excited for this. BCBS ladled from the barrel (presumably 2012), plus at one of the ticket giveaways the Goose Island rep said that there will be several unannounced rare tappings, as well as several new beers.

I have a friend that might drop out of going so I would have an extra ticket. Not 100% sure, but if anyone needs a ticket BM me and I will let you know asap.

I heard the same thing. The rep said this would be the first 2012 BCBS!

There's two different tickets though. The free tickets giveaways get you in for free but you pay for all drinks and food. If you know someone you get the tickets that you get in for free and all Beer and food are free. Including the ” Matilda tent”

  11. Where did this info come from? The free tickets I got don't say anything about this.

Of course they don't say anything about the better tix. Have you ever been to any event/concert/game/etc? There is almost always some kind of VIP tickets that have more perks.

Insiders. no names. but the ppl with blue wristband there won't be paying for anything.

Won 2 tickets from the sweepstakes on their website. The email confirmation I got said it includes 2 VIP wristbands, do you still have to pay with a VIP wristband?

Point is mute for me though as I will be out of town that weekend and they don't appear to be transferrable. Bummed :(

I seemed to have opened pandora's box with the out of town comment. Here is clarification on why they are non-transferrable, per their email, no physical tickets:

What you and your guest need to bring to claim your prize at will call:· A government issued ID with your name and valid birth date – NO EXCEPTIONS!· Your +1 must also bring their valid government issued ID – NO EXCEPTIONS!· Print out this email and bring it with you (it speeds up the will call process)· Will call will open at 5pm the day of the event· Absolutely no one under the age of 21 will be admittedWhat you will receive at will call:· Two (2) tickets to the 312 Urban Block Party featuring St. Vincent, Kelly Hogan and Maps and Atlases· Two (2) VIP wristbands / passes which will provide you with exclusive benefits at the party

Mrs. Maction and I will be there. I think I won the same package as MarkFy:

What you will receive at will call:·
Two (2) tickets to the 312 Urban Block Party featuring St. Vincent, Kelly Hogan and Maps and Atlases·
Two (2) VIP wristbands / passes which will provide you with exclusive benefits at the party

Should I plan on spending a bunch of cash, or willl I get one of the fabled blue wristbands?

I know this isn't necessarily a destination event for rare beer tappings, but I'm just trying to decide whether to plan on going for sure, with my free yellow tickets I got (thanks to Dontcounttoday's heads-up). In past years how much were pours, and what aside from the perennials was available to non-VIPs?

Just got an email that I won a pair of tix from the St. Vincent contest. Apparently, it's a special check in list for those winners, but nothing said about it being VIP wristbands. So, here's hoping on that front.

ISO as well. Please BM me if you have any extras or cannot attend.

    Cheers!
  34. Anyone know if you can buy tickets to this event? I need one more and can't find them for sale on goose island's website or 312chi. Anyone know if they will be selling more tickets at the gate?
  35. Very likely will not be selling tickets at the gate. The way they handled the FB group page, there are going to be dozens or hundreds of people showing up thinking they are on a RSVP list that will not be. Going to be a mess, but there are more opportunities to get tickets before the show, just watch their FB page.

Don't take this as gospel because I'm absolutely speculating on this, but I'm pretty sure that this (legally) isn't a ticketed event and you can show up without tickets and probably be fine. The block party page lists it as being on walnut street between wolcott and wood, and if that's a public street (i.e. not some privately owned thoroughfare), you cannot legally charge someone to enter the public way. Case in point: All of those Chicago street festivals (Retro on Roscoe, Market Days, etc.)? You don't have to pay. Read the fine print on the signs, legally they're asking for a donation and they cannot prevent you from just walking past them.
  40. Found this doing a quick search on the google machine.

    http://chicago.everyblock.com/annou...-festival-entrance-fees-they-illegal-5028137/

Reinforces street festivals cannot legally keep people out (even if you don't pay), but again just some guy on a blog (just like I'm some idiot on Ba). I am sure events like lollapalooza get expensive permits that allow them to fence off roads to keep people out, but normal street fests just block off the roadways so vehicles can't get through. In a residential area couldn't you just say you live on that block?
