Great Britain Advice on shipping beer from the UK to the NEtherlands

Discussion in 'Europe' started by janvanderdam, Mar 14, 2013.

  1. Hello

I have a trade going with someone in the UK. He wants to send 8 bottles to me in the Netherlands. But now he mailed me that there are restrictions, can't send more than 2 items in a package and no more than 1 liter.

Can someone advice me what we can do? Just pack the 8 bottles and ship them anyway? Or any advice on other shipping options? Checked DHL but that's quite expensive.

    Thanks in advance.
  2. Should be alright however much you want to send, just more expensive. I've had beer delivered from both Germany and the Netherlands to the UK without a problem.
  3. I understand. But in the Netherlands there are no restrictions in sending alcohol abroad. but i understand from my UK friend there is in the UK.
  4. It should be fine as long as nobody knows it's alcohol though.

Good luck with your package of collectible glassware ;)
  5. I''ve traded a variety of times with Bartender from The Netherlands and I''ve had no problems. Often a 12 bottle trade from 341 ml to 750 ml bottles too.
  6. And what service did you use to send this?
