Apricot wilds.

Discussion in 'Beer Talk' started by oldp0rt, Dec 30, 2012.

  1. I'd like to have a tasting with only apricot wild ales/fruit lambics soon and need to know which are the best ones.

    Aside from

    Cantillon - FouFoune
    Cascade - Apricot
    Bruery - Filmishmish

Do you guys know of other really nice ones that should be in here?

I've seen some on tap (I believe Destihl has one, and so has Rock Bottom). Cascade's Noyaux is made with Apricot kernels (it tastes apricot-y), and it's in bottles.

Chandelle was actually extremely tasty and on of the favorites at a local tasting, I deffinetly second that. If you did want to open this up to peach as well the list would increase rapidly. Cheers.

Destihl in Normal, IL makes a fantastic one -was on tap a few weeks ago. I find their sours very similar to Cantillon. They sold growlers of the sours years ago -might still

not sure if it's on tap at the moment, but when it is, growler fills are $48 (64oz.)

Not sure if this helps, but the Bruery is releasing one next year. Not sure if that means next month or Dec. '13 though.

Upright bottled a barrel aged seven with apricots a while ago.

AC Golden's Hidden Barrel Apricot is a worthy addition.
