So what have you given up if you successfully set up a trade for one?
I traded a flora for last years, tasted like a black Tuesday light.
So what's the bottle count on this year's then?
Seen lots of people saying 7000 and lots saying 6-800.
Word is 1,400: 800 to distribution, and 600 to Mug Club, friends, family, staff, etc.
If they ever make 7000 bottles there will be enough for everyone to get a taste. I think if you want now your going to have to take it up the tailpipe. I think Yohann is spot on from what a have heard.
Anybody wanna report completed trades for this one?
Le Roar Grrrz 1:1
Hommage + BB Flanders for Assassin and 4pk BCBBW
I doubt everyone will get a taste. Let us not forget the trade rape on Prop and that was what like 15,000???
Evilcatfish If Prop is trade rape then Assassin is definitely a DP.
Maybe that's what I'm in to???? Jk....
With the exception of a couple guys the Assassin FT posts seem to be reasonable. I get that ISO's are going up offering up $100+ of stuff like Bruery stouts, but I doubt those are getting done. As you can see above, I basically traded 2 Assassin for other highly rated beers more or less $4$. One was an ISO post and one was a FT post. I don't know what else anyone would expect. For Fuzzy I traded about 3x $4$ higher rated sours. For BB Flora I traded a higher rated beer of similar numbers at I think 2x $4$. I haven't seen many of those types of offers for Assassin, so everyone probably needs to relax and realize it's a highly in demand beer that is going to trade for other highly in demand beer.
Assassin 1:1 with DeGarde Archer, honestly though I only traded it because I have been looking for The Archer forever and I had basically thought it was out of reach. My trading partner and I definitely got lucky finding each other.
However, I tweeted Clark several months ago, and he said he expected between 2000-2500 bottles. I wouldn't doubt that TG held back a bunch of bottles, or put some in kegs.
A significant amount went into kegs last year, for fests and other special tappings, so I'd assume that was the case again this year.
1:1 for Cthulhu.
So....Hommage b2 will NOT land a '14 Assassin in all likelihood? or am I in the neighborhood, perhaps right around the corner?
this beer is the best evidence I've ever seen of beer trading on rarity over taste.
rAvg Assassin: 4.58
rAvg BCBS: 4.58
and yet to acquire a Assassin you'd probably need to trade like 40 BCBS. completely irrational, but tickers gotta tick
TG is the new Hill Farmstead, nothing but liquid gold coming out of there.
The new twenty year pappy barrel version might taste better than 4.58.
Someone should send me one.
But Assassin has coffee... and it's aged in RYE whiskey barrels... whoa
I did that based on a FT post - Hommage + BB Flanders for Assassin and 4pk BCBBW
Man, I can't wait to drink some Assassin this weekend!!!
if only BCBS came in a version with coffee
Maybe it's not too far-fetched but Coffee Rye > Assassin?
it probably is. but "how good the beer tastes" is only about 10% of what drives drives trade value
Much much better.
I still haven't had one yet is it better than last years?
Night and day better, IMO....
Wow Cool I was going to wait for a while. I am having a family barbecue tomorrow maybe I will open it.
What time shall I come over then?
DB Huna 1:1
Thats what I did a few months ago to land the yellow wax 13'.
Seems like people are looking for DB Huna ++ for the gold wax 14'.
Last year I traded a BA Abraxas for Assassin + King Henry.
Assassin was soooooo good. It was just ever so slightly better than bcbs!
I felt fortunate to get it done for the DB in light of some of the ridiculous ISOs I've seen. I really think that's fair for both sides.
1:1 seems right
same with BA Abraxas
Just traded an abduction set for one. 9:1
NG peach x2
Ive got nothing but low ball offers in FT for mine so i just deleted it. But traded one to a local guy and gave me a ton of HF for it. Might post another and see what pops up.
I got one for a dl 12-14.
