    Bell's Black Note
    Midnight Sun Berserker

    Australian
    Watermelon Warhead
    Bootleg Barrel-Aged (and infected) Grandfather

Gotten to try these beers thanks to the generosity of fellow BAs so cheers for that.

Quite excited that I've got BA Temptation and some Duvel Citra on the way judging by their praise in this thread.

  10. this will need some thought but the Duvel Triple Hop will be up there for sure

  11. Been holding off in the hope I'll get something I like even more. Close twice in the last week (Cuvee De Ranke, Horal's Mega blend), but 1. Cantillon Mamouche.
    2. Red Duck/ Kissmeyer Gnaume

  12. Parrotshake

    Parrotshake Savant (365) Australia Nov 29, 2008

I'll have to try the Gnaume, I guess. Admire the Red Duck spirit of experimentation but every beer of theirs I've had this year has been... frustrating. Way different to everything else around and very interesting but not at all drinkable.

Things I've really enjoyed in my fave styles in a pretty crazy year were:

Hoppy - Exponential Hoppiness, Racer X, Abrasive, PtE
Stouts - Damon, Rasputin Bruichladdich, Ivan, BA Yeti vert, Wig & Pen, Totality
Barleywines - '08 Arctic Devil, '94 Hardys, Brandy Old Conundrum
Sours - Hommage, Persica, 08 Cable Car,

Always hard picking a favourite and sure I've left out some amazing brews. Of those Persica & Damon were first released in 2012.

Was a really fun year, met & drank with plenty of great BA's. Hope to do more of the same in 2013.

  14. Hmm me thinks Mr Kennedy and Spicelab have been holding regular tasting sessions !

    Haha, spot on:)

  16. wow this was a really hard task to complete with all of the quality brews available last year. In order to decide my top 5 ive only have picked beers where i consumed at least 2 litres of it in the year.

Bridge Road Bomber Mach 2 - superb belgium BIPA and the growler price compared to he original bottle price made it unresistable.
Green Flash Rayon Vert - loved this when it was first released but now that the brett is showing more i cant get enough (if anybody knows of any bottles left in perth let me know)
Mad Brewers Hoppy Hefe - another beer that i really enjoyed, pretty sure i drank two bottle shops dry
Kooinda Black IPA - great aussie BIPA and well priced for a 6 pack
O for Awesome - so awesome, every time i got a bottle to show someone i drank it before i had a chance

    bring on 2013!!!!
