Maybe both? A smaller raffle with better odds tomorrow to draw people to the event, with a larger one next week? Just an idea, I don't think people would complain either way.

The raffle tickets are only sold at the event tomorrow, correct?

This is what I would like to donate for the raffle. One of the Sucaba is 2013, the other is 2012. KBS is 2013

  4. I like the idea of this, "reward" the people who come out while allowing those who can't make it a fair chance at some great beer and gear.

Holy crap! Yeah good idea, let this thing build up and promote it like crazy everywhere. I'm gonna throw a Lawson's Maple Tripple in.

  6. After further consultation it would be needlessly complicated to extend this. So if you want to win these awesome beers you better show up tomorrow!

I just got this in my Jacks Abby mailing:

    http://us2.campaign-archive2.com/?u=176061f6d78567958ebd5e311&id=3d35125164&e=ab72079175

Sorry the link is not active - drawback of posting from an iPad. Maybe somebody else can hop on and make the link work...

Basically a whole bunch of good brewers donated beer. not sure if this is tied to the previously posted item or not, but these a the details. The Tavern Framingham is the place from three to midnight tomorrow, all beer proceeds go to relief efforts. Nice to see folks pulling together so quickly in the face of an horrific occurrence.

  8. I would like to add this to the raffle: Stone 09 Epic Vertical, Bells Third Coast Strong ale 2010, DFH WW Stout 2010, Nectar Ale Black Xantu 2010, Central Waters Peruvian Morning 2013, Hopslam 2013

  9. Look at the Buy Boston a Beer Thread and you will see where it all started - Marshall Wharf and Jacks Abby.

Yeah....just found that. Opened my email and got stoked about it, posted before catching up on my reading, to late to delete my duplicate. The event looks awesome, there is a bigger event coming, and people are really stepping up for the raffle.

Maybe multiple baskets to raffle off? (says Dnuggs).

  13. Maybe a type of "Chinese auction" where people can buy tickets to put in for the items they want?

  14. There is another event tomorrow night, in Somerville, but I will be going to the one in Framingham

  15. Depending on what the Alström brothers conjure up, they might be able to have raffles at their event too.

  16. I can offer a BCBCS '12.

I absolutely love and support this idea. However, I'll be unable to attend which is quite unfortunate for me because I'd love to be apart of it. Hopefully the Boston event will be on a Friday so we can get as many more people as possible.

  18. Do you have any information on the one in Somerville?

If people want to carpool out from Worcester, let me know. Not sure on timing yet. Waiting to hear back from some friends.

    Eh? Where's the marathon tie-in?

  24. Can't wait for this, it's going to be a good day for Boston (and Framingham)!

  25. Awesome event, awesome breweries, awesome idea!

So for us 9-5rs who want to come out from Boston tonight and donate.

Is there any way to get updates on if there is lines, capacity, (you aren't getting in chances)?

Myself and some of my friends are all trying to coordinate to go. Given this is on BA, word spreads fast and the fact that MANY very rare prizes are being auctioned I can imagine this may grow too big for one little bar. Any way to get updates on capacity, sold out, don't bother...etc?

So people don't drive all the way out and find out they can not enter.

  29. Thanks to anyone who can give some updates for all of us who will be a bit later. Thank you to Jacks Abbey for answering my question!

  30. The Tavern is quite small. Hopefully everyone can get in.

  31. We are clearing out all the tables to the outside of the room which leaves a large amount of open space. If we are able to fill it up then it will be an enormous success.

Also Armsby Abbey just donated a $100 gift certificate.

We also just got notice will be tapping casks of Mahr's Bock and Ungespundet-Hefetrüb that had already been donated for our later Lager Cask event as Mahr's will be sending replacements.

  32. I knew I forgot at least one brewery. Wormtown sent some beer as well.

  33. Looks like this is shaping up great. Jack's Abby you guys are kicking ass.

Any updates about capacity would be greatly appreciated. I think I'm going to make the trip up the Pike and would be disappointed to be turned away.
It's quite impressive to see an event like this put together so quickly and for such a deserving cause. It illustrates perfectly the tremendous sense of community throughout MA and the region as well as beyond in supporting those in need. Big thanks to Marshall Wharf and Jack's Abby for their swift and generous actions as well as to all the contributing breweries and BA's for what looks to be an amazing event. Cheers!
